There are a lot of negative reviews here on these Sperry's Billfish 3's...All I can say is that they feel fantastic right out of the box with my bare feet and construction wise they feel really really solid. The side mesh panels areas don't have leather on the inside, as on reviewer noted, they actuall work and help keep things drier and more comfortable when not using socks. I imagine there is a bad luck factor with some of these reviewers, but my initial impression is that these are high quality boat shoes that are miles beyond the thom mcan's, bass, etc. that I've used throughout my life....Yes, they are my very first Sperry's shoes, so maybe the older made Sperry's were a lot better than these, but I'm definitely happy and satisfied with my purchase...I hope these hold up well in the future, because they really fit me like a glove.

These are the best boatshoes I have ever worn. They are light, soft, and comfortable, fit like a second skin, and provide excellent traction on the deck of my sailboat. While the dark coloring on the upper part of the sole does rub off in places and the leather fades to a soft carmel color through use and in the sun, this creates a favorable funky appearance. I have a new pair in a box waiting for my current (two summers and counting) ones to wear out because Sperry does not offer this color (tan leather) anymore.

This was my second pair of sperrys, and I am VERY happy with them. They're extremely comfortable, and have held up wonderfully through the summer and winter both. Take a little time to apply some leather care to them and they are the ideal everyday any normal situation shoe. These are just as good in the office as they are at the lake.

The shoes were double boxed with an Amazon box and the Sperry show box. I opened the box and the shoes were wrapped in tissue paper to protect the leather. The laces were tied nice and neat with tissue paper and a cardboard mold stuffed inside each shoe. The shoes looked brand new and there were no scuffs. The color of the shoes matched the picture on Amazon almost perfectly. No major color difference. I tried them on they fit perfectly. They were a little snug since they were brand new but leather shoes will stretch a little. I wear a size 12D and have never had any problems with leather shoes stretching too much. Ideal User: The ideal user for these Sperry Billfish Ultralite Boat Shoes who is looking for a casual shoe that is comfortable and allows their feet to breathe. A user looking for a light weight shoe that’s quality holds up and provides a comfortable soul. Someone who is around water, like a boat or a lake. These Sperry’s are comfortable and do not need to be worn with socks. The shoes do dry out in an impressive amount of time if they do become soaked. Since the shoes are breathable, I recommend the user to wear the shoes in warm weather to enhance user comfort. I do feel they are costly at $79.95 but the quality of these shoes is high along with the comfort. I have worn these shoes in rough conditions and the leather still holds up, laces have not ripped, paint has not worn off, and they still look to be in great condition. The shoes are easy to clean if they do become grimy.

These shoes are good quality. I can't say how long they'll last. I had a cheaper pair of boat shoes that lasted several years. The soles fell apart and the leather separated from the sole. Goop fixed most of it for many good years of service. The soles on Sperry Top Siders seem to be significantly better quality. Shoes are very light weight. I like the air panel in the side, for cool comfort. They look very nice. Very satisfied customer.

When my current favorite pair was getting very worn, I despaired or finding the same model to replace them. New pair fits like a glove, is very light weight, and is entirely satisfactory. If you want to find this light weight model, find a site with the range of Billfish models. and you'll find it somewhere in the options. Size selection is limited. I suspect that production has ended.

Best boat shoe I’ve ever owned period. I’ve tried everything and this is the only shoe that both gives support and stays together. I’ve owned countless other brands and styles and I keep coming back to these. Take it from someone in the industry who wears these shoes on a daily basis... no matter what this shoe costs; as long as they are available they will be on my feet on a daily basis! 15/10 would recommend!

I had the Billfish 3 Eyeboat and wore them for 4 years. The day finally came and I decided to replace them and I thought to give these Ultralite Sperrys a try. The first thing I noticed on these is the quality. I received my first pair of this product and immediately decided to wear them to church the next day. When I got home after church I noticed the inside of these shoes are PEELING OFF and left white stuff/shoe residue on my black socks. In addition I experienced some kind of pain/ discomfort on my right bigtoe while wearing these shoes (and I only wore them for a half day!). I returned the first pair I bought and got a replacement because I thought I had a "defective" product. The second pair I received - it was very comfortable. I give it: Comfort: B+ because these are super light and I can walk on them the whole day with no problem. I did not give it an "A" because I have to wear dress socks for these shoes (which is a hassle) - otherwise my feet will get sweaty. I can wear my regular socks with the other Sperrys owned and my feeth wont get sweaty. I purchased a regular size 9 and it felt like walking on clouds - I do think the comfort/fitting is this product's best attributes (quality is def the worst). Quality: C- these Sperry's qualities are subpar compared to the other Sperry's. These Ultralite Sperry's have some kind of painting on the soul/bottom part of the shoe which will peel off after just a couple of months wearing (the other reviewers also confirm). Value: B- I bought these on amazon for about $57. I have had them for about 6mo and it seems like they can last for one more year.

I have had 3 pairs of this deck shoe and they are EXCELLENT !! They fit well; are well constructed and wear like iron ... they have all leather arch support and the stitching is very durable ... no rips in it even with very challenging usage. I love their support and comfort. Well worth the money . QUALITY WORKS !!!!!
