THESE ARE TINY - and - THEY WORK!
THESE WORK VERY VERY VERY WELL INDEED! I've tried 5-other products to resolve this NEED. To transmit REMOTE CONTROL functionality from one room to another. And trust me, there are some really EXPENSIVE and COMPLICATED solutions out there! They all did NOT WORK WELL, or AT ALL for me. But these little jewels - work ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY!!!First, it is not CLEAR, but; they are TINY! Oly about 1.5-inches in diameter, and; even with the antenna stub on the side, are only a couple of inches tall. This is not clear as to WHY... BUT the one which is marked with "REC" (as in RECEIVER), I call it A. You put into the room where the REMOTE will be used. The other one in the room with the "device", I call it B. There is a small "EYE" for "A". You plug in the A device to the power, then make sure the "EYE" is plugged into it as well. Then place the "EYE" near the TV and facing outward so you can see it - and it can "see" you.The other device, you put near the device you wish to control, and; it has a wire with 3-receiver EYES on it. Plug in this device, plug in the "eyes" to it, then - place the "EYES" somewhere near and IN FRONT OF the device that is supposed to be receiving the control.I did all of this, and VIOLA! It works PERFECTLY! And, unlike OTHERs that I have tried, it works WITHOUT making it weird when I am in the room using the OTHER REMOTE. Suffice to say, these were very well priced, and WORK FAR BETTER that all the others I tried!

Blinking Light will drive you crazy
This product works as described. What they don't tell you is the blue tranmiit light blinks constantly. I contacted customer service and was I was told this is normal operation. I think they are wrong. The light should only blink when a transmitt signal is sent. If you are using this in a bedroom find another product. The blinking lights up a dark room. In a At $60 is seems way over priced to me for the quality. The disks are around 1 1/2' round, weight next to nothing and feel very cheap. I feel like if I hold them to tight I will crack the case. I haven't checked others so I have nothing to compare but I feel like I got hit over the head on this purchase. I don't know what is going on at Amazon but this is the third item I bought recently and had a problem. I haven't had 3 problems cumulatively in the manys year of buying.

Requires line-of-sight.
This is a good solution if you want to repeat the IR signal from your remotes in a direction other than your TV. This product does what I needed it to, but there are two downsides to this item in my particular use case. The signal is sent from the transmitter to the receiver in IR, not RF, and therefore requires line-of-sight. This means that both devices need to be visible and can't be hidden in most cases. The biggest downside is that there is a very bright blue indicator light that flashes whenever the signal is detected and transmitted. Assuming your transmitter is near your television, this will get annoying. I covered the light with gaffer tape.Other than that, the product works fine. My receiver is situated on a bookshelf behind the couch, with the repeater leads taped to the inside of a cabinet where the AVR, DVD player, and other devices are located.

IR repeater poor Location of the IR sensor & transmitter LED BAD
I have been using this IR repeater for a couple of years. It functions, but be cautioned that there is a SEVERE design flaw in its mechanical design. The location of the power-jack, IR-sensor and IR LED-emitter are all located next to each other on the same side of the unit. This makes the usage really hard and problematic resulting in poor reliability because the power jack and cable frequently obstructs the IR signals from triggering the unit. Ideally the power jack should have been located behind the IR-sensor and IR-LED windows so as to NOT obstruct the IR signals.

Great Idea.. Works Great.
This item works but there is no instruction on how to set it up.SETTING IT UP.1. Plug the IR Receiver Extension Cable with the Single Emitter into the IR Infrared Receiver Unit.2. Plug the IR Emitter Extension Cable with the Double Emitter into the IR infrared Emitter Unit.3. Plug the Power Adapter and Connect it to the infrared Receiver and the infrared Emitter via the USB Power cable4. Place the Emitter Unit with its Extension Cable next to the Device you want to control or stick the emitter to the front of the Device.5. Now make sure you place the Receiver Emitter Unit at your direct Line of Sight.6. Plug both Units to your Power source and you should see a Blue Light Blink twice.7. Point your remote control to the Receiver and you should see a Blue light come on every time you press your Remote Key for any Function.

Great Signal Range
Put the Transmitter in a weatherproof box outside on the patio & plugged it into the attic. Now you can sit there with the remote control for the stereo system which is inside the house and control everything from a lounger. The receiver is sitting in front of the system for the best signal.

The signal transfer is pretty good. At this time not using the wired attachments on the receiver nor the repeater. Unable to turn off the DVR in the other room as of yet. The blue light blink periodically on the receiver unit. Nonstop on the repeater that is in the closet. Leaning towards keeping.Update. After owning for 4 months, DEAD. The receiver blinks when the remote is pointed at it. But it also blinks when I walk in front of it. The repeater blinks like a broken turn signal but doesn't remit the remote control signal. Tried with a direct wire plugged into the remitted and attached to the IR on cablebox. No luck. Chucking in the trash

We have volume control!!
Our main controller went out, so added these so that we could get signal to our receiver and they worked great! The only negative I would have is every now and then I had to reconnect them! But that is a very rare occurrence! I would recommend these.
