how long is the arbor (3 1/2 inches?) and how thick is it (5/8, 3/4 "?) ?

The shaft is 3 inches long from the chuck, there is no lock spade on the end as it is not needed. The shaft Dia. Is standard now and are all the same size. I was worried about this myself at the time abot the taper mm. This is now standard so one size fits all.

I have a 8"×12" mini lathe will this fit into my tail stock?

You did not say what lathe you have but as long as the tail stock has an MT2 taper, it will work. My lathe is the BestEquip 7x14 and it works in mine.

Will this fit a jet bd 920n lathe?

If your Lathe has a MT2 morse taper, it will. the taper is the critical dimension.
