It's not required, but recommended to make the wrap last longer. Note that for the this titanium wrap you need to heat cycle and apply coating 3 times for it to properly bond.

Can I use this to protect a plastic hose line from melting next to a turbo ?

No. This product is intended to wrap exhaust tubing. We offer a variety of protective line sleevings for this application.

Hello I got this product to wrap a cup for a Provap 110 that heats up over 230C, it holds very good to that heat, I don't see a problem this product dealing with outside environment; I am very happy with the product for the use/abuse I subject it in my case, it is a thought material and it does what it is indented for.
