The people that hate or sleep on this album are missing out. It’s way better than most give it credit for. It stands up next to any other album of theirs.

I love this album as it’s own piece. It’s bouncier and happier than their other albums, which are also fantastic. Their other albums leaned towards the grittier serious darker side, so this was a great departure, but I knew while listening to it that some fans may not like it. They’ll only want the darkness of Twenty One Pilots. After a worldly pandemic where so many people suffered on some level from financially to mental health battles due to the isolation and uncertainty, this is the album that was needed at this time. People need the sun to come beaming in right now, and this album is it. This is also the first album for Tyler and Josh in their 30’s so there is a bit of maturity or evolvement that appears to have taken place. They seem to be more content and happy at this stage. Throughout their 20's they churned out darker poetic tunes that often touch on the battle with the harder elements of mental health and trying to survive on this planet. While this one, they went to the opposite extreme of just enjoying life. This album can work as a great depression killer. They didn't completely leave fans of the darkness in the dark. The last two songs on this album are more akin to what they did in Trench.

I love it! Favorite band

They had no real radio play with Trench. Understandable since it was a storytelling concept album, great though it was. I would be surprised if they did not score some serious radio play from this one though. I would say there are at least 3, maybe up to 5 summer-y sounding hits from this one. I really like it. The last 2 tracks very much sound like leftovers from the Trench sessions. For me that is a good thing, but they definitely do not fit with the first 9 tracks. Once again they fail to disappoint me, as up to now they never have. Saw them live 2 years ago and really hope to see them again. I hope they get mucho commercial success similar to what they got with Blurryface with this one. Long Live the Pilots!

Cd Works and Digipak Case is in good shape aside from being crushed because of the lack of a digipak Sleeve for it to go in like Clancy has.

Twenty One Pilots | Scaled And Icy | 21.05.21 | Kein AutoRip SCALED AND ICY (ein Anagram für „Clancy is Dead“, dem fiktiven Charakters des letzten Albums TRENCH und wohl gleichbedeutend mit der Aussage, dass die Geschichte um Clancy tot ist bzw. keine versteckten Mysterien auf dem Album zu finden sind) ist das sechste Studio-Album der seit geraumer Zeit zu einem Duo zurechtgestutzten Band. Die Musik des Duos ist nach wie vor schwer zu kategorisieren. Auf Wikipedia z.B: heißt es: Der Musikstil der Band wird wie folgt beschrieben „alternative hip hop, electropop, indie pop, pop rock, rap rock, alternative rock, rock, synth-pop, pop, electronica, electronic rock, indie rock, hip hop, indietronica with reggae, folk, psychedelic, new wave and funk influences“. Alles klar? Bandgründer und einziges Original-Mitglied Tyler Joseph (Lead Vocals, Bass, Guitar) hierzu: „Ich versuche nicht Musik im Stile „alles für alle“ zu sein. Ich bin das, was ich für mich selbst sein möchte“ und zieht es vor mit unvorhersehbarer Musik überrascht zu werden. Sein Kollege an den Drums Josh Dun sagt, das man sich als Musiker sich zum Ziel gesetzt habe, die Mauern der Musikgenres niederzureißen und verschiedene Aspekte zu kombinieren. Persönlich liebe ich Vielfalt in der Musik. Und wer das und die Combo mag, kommt mit dem neuen Output voll auf seine Kosten. Das Album bietet 11 Tracks. Mit knapp 38 Minuten Spielzeit ist es ein kurzes und kurzweiliges Vergnügen. Auf "Scaled and Icy" arbeiten Twenty One Pilots mit der Angst, Einsamkeit, Langeweile und dem Zweifel, die im Jahr 2020 in den Herzen der Welt zu Hause waren und wurde mit einer ungewöhnlich optimistischen Klanglandschaft ausgestattet. Beginnend mit den Wohlfühlstylings des Eröffnungstracks GOOD DAY bewegt sich das Album schnell in eine Auswahl eingängiger elektro-getönter Tracks wie CHOKER (zweite Single), dessen Ohrwurmmelodie durch den dunklen Humor des begleitenden Musikvideos von Josh Dun ausgeglichen wird und Tyler Joseph in einem Spielzeugladen voller magischem Realismus, der sich wie eine „Flucht-Ode“ an die Isolation anfühlt, in welcher das Album produziert wurde. Das Folgen des Tracks THE OUTSIDE ist ein frühes Highlight mit seinen groovigen Synth-Pop-Klängen - dem vorherigen Track SHY AWAY (erste Single) mit seiner zusätzlichen Prise Alt-Rock-Establishments, das sich nahtlos in die unbeschwerte Stimmung der neuesten Single SATURDAY (dritte Single) einfügt. Das Album versetzt sich danach in eine rockige Stimmung mit gitarrengeführten Sound wie NEVER TAKE IT, MULBERRY STREET und FORMIDABLE, von denen nur letzteres für die Elemente des Synthie-Einwebens in den Song auffällt. Gegen Ende strebt das Duo eindeutig ein starkes Finish an, von der sonnigen Melodie und dem eingängigen Refrain von BOUNCE MAN bis zu den charakteristischen Hymne NO CHANCES, die vor dem Abschluss des Tracks REDECORATE mit willkommenem Chaos pulsiert. Sie fühlt sich abrupt und doch hypnotisch an, mit ihren Elektroeinflüssen und ihrer lockeren Stimmabgabe und sanften Rap-Versen, die zu einem beruhigenden Abschluss führen. Mir gefällt das Album sehr gut. Von Twenty One Pilots drauf steht ist auch Twenty One Pilots drinnen. Dennoch stechen für mich drei Songs richtig heraus: THE OUTSIDE, NEVER TAKE IT und NO CHANCES. Trotz der wenigen unvergesslichen Momente in der Mitte bleibt SCALED AND ICY durchweg stark in Bezug auf Klang und Lyrik, und obwohl es allzu schnell endet, ist es eine beeindruckend zusammenhängende Produktion. Es war das Produkt virtueller Ferngespräche des Duos. Das Album bekommt 4,5 Sterne, also eine schwache 5. Das Duo schaffte mit seinem vierten Album BLURRYFACE (2015; Nr. 1 in den USA; 4x Platin), dass die erfolgreichen Singles STESSED OUT und RIDE beinhaltete, den Durchbruch und wurde das erste Album in der Geschichte der Recording Industry Association von Amerika (RIAA) auf dem jeder Track mindestens eine Gold-Zertifizierung erhielt. Die Veröffentlichung der Single HEATHENS machte die Gruppe auch zum ersten alternativen Künstler in der Geschichte, der zwei gleichzeitige Top-5-Singles in der Billboard Hot 100 hatte, und zum dritten Rock-Act in der Geschichte (nach den Beatles und Elvis), bei dem zwei Singles gleichzeitig in den Top-5 der Billboard Hot 100 Charts standen. Auf Amazon ist der mp3 Donwload unter einer CD zu finden, die 75€ kostet. Die reguläre CD ist unter einem anderen Produkt und ohne mp3 Download gelistet. Etwas verwirrend. Die 75€ sind wohl für die Boxset, die aber im Handel irgendwie nirgends verfügbar ist. Lt.
