There is no point to make diamond plates of higher grit than 1000, because they are too rough, and will leave scratches. You can use the 1000 stone as the last one and finish with a softer stone. For example we have sets of Boride stones. Their 1000 grit stones will provide a nicer finishing than electroplated plates
