I occasionally use Ativan for travel and other stressful situations. How do these compare to Ativan?

A small study showed that an 80mg dose was comparable to lorazepam (Ativan). A larger study showed lavender beat Paxil and placebo in treating anxiety. Not only that, those taking lavender reported better sleep quality, fewer depressive symptoms, and better quality of life. There are no known interactions, and the worst side effect was lavender-flavored burping. I am just sharing information here; not intended to take the advice of your medical provider. I also recommend that you do your own research!

There are often trace amounts of lead in the soil that the flowers are grown in, which leads to the flowers absorbing some of that lead or some of the soil ending up in the distiller, which leads to a small fraction of that trace amount ending up in the lavender oil used to make this product. The amount of lead in it is nowhere near enough to harm you.

I took my first capsule and burped a strong lavender taste for five hours. yuck! any tips to stop that from happening?

I never had that happen. I take two pills at bedtime with water.

Very effective

Very effective in restlessness and inability to sleep. I suffer from bipolar disorder and use it at night when I am particularly restless, and it does the job with no drowsiness and no side effect. However, it may make you feel more tired. Watch out for that.
