The feature measurements are different than measurements under product dimensions.... Which is correct??? One will fit my insert, other won't! Help!

The wastebasket measures 10 1/4 inches width at the top, 15 inches length at the top and 18 inches high. It is the only one that would fit in my cabinet.

Is this hard plastic or the sort molded plastic Rubbermaid has made for many years?

I don't know what you mean by "what they've made for many years", but it's not super hard, it "gives" a little, and does appear to be molded into shape. The recycling triangle on it says #4 - LDPE. Hope that helps.

What is the the actual size? The product number and title indicates bisque 36 qt, but the front page write-up says white 21 qt.

the basket I ordered and received was, in fact, 36 qt (it still has its label) - the dimensions are 14.5" x 11" x 18"

is there a lid available for this can?

These were un-lidded cans. I was not looking for ones with lids. Mine fit in a drawer.

Perfect for a very special use-case (IKEA pull out drawer)

This is strangely enough, this is the only bin that perfectly fits a 20" tall IKEA pull out drawer. There are no others like it. Note that a lid would take it over the threshold.

It actually fits and is Rubbermaid!

Our previous trash container pushes against the door and the pipes. The door never really closes and the pipe leaks after a while because the container pushes on the pipes. This is exactly what I needed, a quality container that fits under the kitchen sink, hidden away nicely.
