Root Concealer-Rita Hazan- Touch Up Spray

Best roots coverup I've used so far. A bit cakey, but nothing like other products I've tried, and I've tried lots.

I always purchase 4 of the Concealers at a time to have on stock. When I needed to use the 3rd one, no color sprayed out after multiple attempts. I then tried my 4th concealer and the same result! Tried multiple times later as I needed it for the following early morning for a funeral I was attending. I had to go to Target as soon as it opened to purchase a concealer as there was no way I could show up with the bad roots that I was scheduled for root coverage not for another 4 days. I need to have a refund for those two that turned out defective! You can’t put a deadline on items such as those that we keep as stock and find out later that they are defective. I did turn around and order 4 more hoping this doesn’t happen again….although I did have that same issue some time ago but hadn’t experienced that up until now.

Luckily I was going to wash my hair after I experimented with this on my roots. I ordered the dark blonde. I shook the can before my initial spray. The first spray sent me into a panic. It came out black!!! I shook it several times more and sprayed again. Now it was a dark grey. Oh, lord. BUT…on the fifth spray, the color actually came out a dark to medium blonde. Whew! But I think I used a half a can on the boo boos! Lot,of money for a product that isn’t right off the bat. So , my advice…don’t count on your first few sprays to be the right color. Good luck.

I have used this product for ten years, through color adjustments, and each time been able to find a shade that worked perfectly. It is not meant to be used as a heavy spray - if you are trying to cover thinning hair, effectively spraying your scalp, there is probably a better product out there. This is to cover your greys between visits to the salon, maybe extend by a couple of weeks. In other words, along part, hair line and maybe temples, spray while moving over area - less than a second, not saturated coverage. A little bit goes a long way. It covers really quickly, need to use minimal product or will become sticky. If do not use too much, will not have sticky feel but will not rub off (if it does, it’s a sign that used too much). If used properly, a can lasts a long time. For me it has been a great product, and good value for the money. I could not live without this!
