Papo The Dinosaur Figure, Velociraptor, Multicolor

I am a man obsessed. So I have like 5 different velociraptor figurines similar to this one. This one is quite nice and very well detailed. It's just a figure, not posable but very sharp looking

Great sculpt, identical to what the Jurassic park dinosaurs are like (from the movie). My girlfriend surprised me with the stegosaurus from the Papo collection, and I was shocked at the quality and felt as if I were reliving that excitement over dinosaurs that I had as a child all over again. This is the best you can get when trying to get a realistic looking raptor, it may not be perfect considering the slight flaw in the paint around the neck but it's the best paint job I've seen on anything like this. I am slowly adding to my Papo dinosaur collection and cannot wait to see what they come up with next -Brachiosaurus, please- As a side note, I am 24 years old and totally embrace whatever it was that enabled me to find excitement over these things, I decorate my bookshelf with them and am nearly obsessed with the Papo line. Up until now, I always thought Carnegie was the best they would get; I was wrong. These are simply amazing, I realize this after nearly 15 years of zero interest in such things. I currently own the Raptor and Stego, my next one to get will be the T-rex; I got over his awkward stance thing.

After having bought the adult T Rex for my 3 year old grandson's birthday at Toys R Us, and being amazed at the quality of the dino...and noticing that he absolutely LOVED the Papo dinosaur even more than his bucket of other dinosaurs (including the Animal Planet bucket and random other dinosaur sets), I decided that Papo was the way to go. I bought the baby T Rex and this Raptor for him for Christmas. With the working jaw and the quality heavy, durable plastic? rubber? materials, as well as the fantastic paint job...these dinos are top quality and worth the money. If there is a dino lover in your house, and you want them to have the best dinos out there...this is the brand to go with. I've even seen YouTube videos that showcase the awesome paintjobs and lifelike details of these dinos. They are THAT awesome.

The level of detail is like no other! The designers did a fantastic job with this item! It was a bit smaller than I expected it to be, but that does not take away the joy of playing this this very lifelike reproduction. My 4-year-old son does not let this thing out of his sight! An instant favorite! Tail, legs, arms and neck do not move, but the mouth does open and close to reveal VERY lifelike teeth and mouth! When the mouth closes, it completely hides the teeth and this raptor almost looks FRIENDLY! But his carnivorous disposition emerges when his mouth opens to reveal his dagger-toothed smile. Truly, a real work of art!

As a Jurassic Park fan, I love the dinosaur line Papo has provided us with. The velociraptor is no exception. The detail, as usual, is gorgeous, with minuscule scales covering the body and a nice bluish-grey color scheme. The only problem I had was that fairly soon after I took mine out of her packaging, her legs started to point inward, making her tough to stand. I fixed it fairly easily with some pressure on the legs, though. Despite the inaccuracies around the Jurassic Park raptor on its own (it should be DEINONYCHUS) I highly recommend this great looking figure.

Papo's Jurassic Park-inspired highly-detailed toy models in dynamic poses, with this one having a moveable jointed jaw. Much like Papo's other figures, these are highly detailed and painted fairly elaborately. They have a lot of details both on the mold and paint job. The only downside is that they are all not to scale with each other, but that would be a large feat to accomplish. Also, unlike figures from PNSO or Haolonggood, these are not scientifically accurate, but for an artistic rendition of a mashup between a museum collectable and a Jurassic Park toy, they're pretty awesome. I wouldn't recommend these toys for children below 5 years old who throw, destroy, or put things in their mouth. While these are toys, with enough force they can be damaged or destroyed, hence leading to small bits breaking off, and parts are pointy such as the tail, but there is some give. This would be I presume their second paint job on their Velociraptor, done nicely with a matte-satin finish.

I bought this "seloptiraptor" (as my four-year-old son pronounces it) along with dinosaur figures from Safari and Schleich. While all three were good quality, the Papo was clearly the best. It is a lower density plastic than the other two brands but at least as rigid. The paint job of the Papo is where it really stands out - very realistic looking and none of the minor flaws visible on the other brands, even after weeks of heavy play. The hinged jaw was a nice surprise and it appears sturdy. I was worried it would break off, but I have not even seen any signs that it is becoming loose.

Prima di tutto la plastica è di ottima qualità così come i dettagli della figura. I colori sono brillanti, la mascella è mobile e la postura perfettamente equilibrata. Insomma, i soliti standard di alto livello della Papo, tra le pochissime aziende (insieme alla Schleich) in grado di garantire modellini stupendi. Ovviamente non è fedele al vero Velociraptor (che era in realtà un tacchino bassissimo piumato con i denti) ma i modellini di dinosauro quasi mai sono realistici. 5 stelle.

Figurine réalisée avec un très grand soin! Ce vélociraptor de Papo est très détaillé et fidèle au film. Les motifs sur son dos sont un peu bizarres mais en tout cas la tête ressemble exactement! De plus, on peut ouvrir sa gueule ce qui est très sympa pour un dino de cette taille. :)
