What standard does this Yubico type c usb use? 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, etc.? No disclosure anywhere.

How one make sure when registering the key that YubiKey does not retain my passwords used as well?

To the best of my understanding, passwords are stored on the key, not on a Yubico server. This is why the company recommends a backup key in case the first one is lost.
