exact fit as replacement for a John Deere D130 keyed ignition switch. like the "umbrella" key; whether that makes a difference in dust/water ingress remains to be seen. My hunch is a middling effect, as there's no real seal on the mating portion – the key and it's "umbrella" simply push up against the switch assembly. However it goes, it is almost certainly going to be better than the wholly open key slot in the original assy. The key for these mowers is universal, and the key from our original fits/works in this key switch. Hard to find a grumble about this item when the fit is exact, the mechanism works fairly smoothly, and as already noted, the wraparound dome-like portion covering the key appears to be a TBD upgrade to the OE key design. If I had to find something to constructively criticize, I'd say the black key and black carabiner, while sleek (?) looking, won't do a bit of good if this gets dropped in the grass, or falls behind something in a garage or storage unit. IMO, that carabiner would benefit from being a color that is FAR more visible. In my case, I simply removed this carabiner (it'll get used elsewhere) and added the old-school, dog-tag-shaped, safety yellow key tag that came with our D130 over 10yrs ago when we bought it. "Problem" solved!

The ignition switch to my John Deere D170 model was wore out and causing me issues. This new switch is high quality and very easy to install. It looks and works great! It was just what I needed.
