iDesign Plastic Soap Dish, Soap Saver, and Kitchen Sponge Holder - Set of 3, 0.75” x 3.25” x 4.75”, Clear

This iDesign plastic soap saver tray is great! It keeps my bar soap from sitting in a puddle, so the soap lasts much longer and doesn’t get mushy. The ridged design lets water drain away easily, and it’s super easy to clean when needed. It’s the perfect size for my bathroom counter, and the clear plastic looks clean and simple with any decor. It also stays firmly in place and doesn’t slide around. If you want a practical, affordable soap tray that actually works, this is a great choice. Highly recommend!

This is my third attempt at finding a soap holder dish that worked well for use in the shower. The first type I tried was the "EGWON self-draining kitchen soap tray" a flexible silicone plastic kind that drained via a lip on the side. It was a good size to fit a larger bar of soap, which is what I needed, but even when tipped slightly sideways in favor of the drain spout, it didn't drain well enough. It had little raised nubs inside to hold the soap away from the bottom of the dish, but they were too shallow, and the soap that I use (Papoutsanis Pure Greek Olive Oil Bar Soap) is very soft, but they're also large bars. The nubs weren't tall enough to keep the soap from reaching the bottom of the dish, and since it didn't drain all that well, it meant messy, "melty" soap bars and a lot of wasted soap. The next kind I tried was the "AmazerBath natural bamboo wood self-draining soap holder tray" which certainly solved the issue of draining the water, and it was a good enough size to hold the soap too. But the soft nature of the olive oil soap led to some draining/melting of the soap through the slats in the soap tray, and more importantly, the tray accumulated mold remarkably fast within the first month of using it (I've never had that issue with other soap dishes or holders) and trying to clean mold off of a wooden tray was easier said than done, and to me, not worth the extra hassle. This iDesign model has been working great, and I've used it for 5 weeks straight now. It's a flexible silicone like the EGWON model was, but designed much better for use in a shower. The nubs are raised far more significantly than the EGWON model was, so they actually do what they were intended to: support a bar of soap and hold it away from the water. The center holes in the middle of this dish help it properly drain water too, so there isn't a lot of water left sitting in the tray. Even if there had been though, the height that the bar of soap sits would still keep it from being in constant contact with water. The nubs are also supportive and numerous enough to hold the Papoutsanis olive oil soap bar sufficiently, without it making a huge mess. Some of the soap comes off on the nubs, but they are small and it is a minimal impact to where not very much of the soap is lost or wasted at all, certainly less than the previous two options I have tried anyways. The softness of the soap when it is in contact with water makes some of that drain or loss inevitable, no matter what you try, but with the iDesign holder it stays relatively intact, since the design actually allows the water to drain properly and the soap to dry. That in turn means that the soap lasts longer, since it isn't getting wasted away quickly like it had been with the other soap dishes. The iDesign soap dish has its nubs featured on both sides, which means it also helps raise the soap holder off of the surface it is sitting on (aside from the spots where the nubs rest.) That also helps with not accumulating any mold or trapping water beneath the holder too when it drains via the center holes. I've experienced no mold buildup or problems with the iDesign model at all so far, which is more inline with what I would expect as being "normal" compared to the unusual situation with the AmazerBath bamboo holder. I'm sure eventually when it does come time to clean the holder, it will be a much easier experience with it being a rubbery silicone, and should be far easier to keep clean in general too. Overall I'm very satisfied with this soap dish, although it took me a few missteps in trying other types and styles that didn't work before I found this one. It's clearly smartly designed and works very well, even for larger, softer soap bars, and I'm sure I'll get a lot of great use out of it.

Needed to replace original ones that were decades old. Work as intended, no gooey soap, easy to clean, wet soap bar stays on & doesn’t fly around.

Nothing special about this purchase. I needed a bar soap holder for my shower. This does the job. Clear, good quality, easy to clean. Looks just fine on my bathtub shelf. Would purchase again!

We've been living with a soap dish problem for years. Regular soap dishes get soapy residue that collects over time. Not pretty. Soaking it in water for 15 minutes will make it easy to scrub off but who wants to waste 15 minutes of their lives doing that every few months? We've tried using regular dishes as well, and that didn't work because the water just collected and the soap would sit in a pool of soapy water. We also tried taking the cap off a water bottle and sticking it in the soap so that the soap had its own tiny little stand. That actually worked pretty well until the soap got small, then the cap just kept falling off. Finding the perfect soap dish has not been on our priority to-do list so we've even just rested our soap on top of sponges. Good for the soap, but not for the sponge. But I finally ventured outside of the house to do some shopping (which I hardly ever do anymore, thanks to Amazon). Saw this little soap dish at Target and thought it looked interesting enough to work and was cheap enough to give it a try (although it's currently cheaper here on Amazon at under $2). LOVE IT! It truly is a soap saver. It's double-sided and has the little points that stick up hold the soap so it's raised and not sitting on a flat surface, thereby allowing the entire soap to dry. It doesn't collect any water, and it doesn't leave any soapy residue. Well, it probably does a little, but not enough to really notice. We bought 2 more for the kitchen and guest bathroom.

Best soap tray ever! Instead of the soap bar practically dissolving because of it sitting in the water this does the opposite. The soap doesn’t touch any water after resting it on the tray. Soap lasts longer. I like the clear color so it sits on my decorative soap tray.

Perfect soap saver. Easy to clean. I keep one in my suitcase when I stay at a hotel that doesn’t have one. The soap sits on the counter & gets pretty messy. I’ve purchased a few times. Happy with my purchase.

I was tired of frequently purchasing my moisturizing soap. My previous soap dish had ridges that were not deep enough and the soap remained wet and dissolved more than it should. There was always a puddle of water in the dish. Enough was enough. Searched for a soap dish and found this one. It’s a soap saver and I’m less stressed about my soap. The soap dish sits on a marble shelf in the shower. It’s a great design. It’s lightweight plastic and flexible. The small holes allow the water to drain through and lets the soap dry between uses. The nubs on either side supports a large bar of soap while keeping the dish elevated. It stays in place and does not slide. I have not seen any mold on the dish. It is easy to clean. Love this soap dish!!!

Dirt cheap at <$3, soap doesn't stick to it after it has dried unlike porcelain or solid plastic dishes, and dries the soap very well. ultimate function over form and aesthetics product
