Wharfedale Diamond 12.C middle speaker, Black

So I do have my center channel hooked to a power amp and I am using the bi amplifying feature of the speaker. Previously I was using a Monitor Audio C150 which was quite clear, bad at low volumes and not very powerful. The 12.C is a clear upgrade from that speaker, crystal clear, excellent with low volume and beautiful, strong dialogue that embellishes a commanding performance in a movie or even for duets, there is distinct discernation of more voices and the tone is just simply better than the C150. It is clear and far the best center i've owned and is probably worth around £300, double the price of my old C150. Very pleased with Wharfedale quality and it compliments my Diamond 220 front speakers.

This completed a very slowly built wharfedale 5.1 setup. It compliments a pair of the Diamond 930's and Diamond 920's speakers at floor standing fronts and mounted rears with SW-150 sub. Sadly the 900 series centre speaker was no longer retailing and thus the slightly higher model 12C. Visually this blends well, the only minor difference is the bold versus cursive script for the Wharfedale logo. Acoustically the speaker is fantastic. Vocals for music and especially visuals (tv/movies) are clear and mellow without being overly harsh. The speaker is larger so if space is limited you may wish to consider alternatives to using this (a soundbar for instance) Overall the Wharfedale range is great value for money and the 12C is no exception.

With my previous centre speaker I was finding that the volume needed to be turned up and down depending if it was action scene or a talkie one, with this centre speaker I have found the speech to be clear and precise

Si tratta di un diffusore centrale dall'ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo e che presenta caratteristiche non comuni (la presenza sul retro di quattro connettori per il bi-wiring) per il suo livello di prezzo. Inoltre la sua forma di parallelepipedo senza arrotondamenti e la regolarità della distanza tra i due woofer ed il tweeter collocato in mezzo ad essi lo rendono adatto per provare (abbinando due di tali diffusori centrali e poggiandoli a "colonna" su uno dei loro due lati più corti) la cd. "configurazione D'Appolito" (nome dell'ingegnere statunitense che la ideò) ossia una coppia di diffusori in cui il tweeter sia "centrato" tra il woofer (od il midwoofer) superiore e quello inferiore. Io ne ho acquistati due di questi diffusori centrali (che sono a cassa chiusa e non bass reflex) e vi assicuro che "messi in verticale" su stand o scaffale si rivelano un'ottima coppia in grado di rivaleggiare con bookshelf di buon livello.
