Great Bucket & Mop System!
My last spin-type mop was purchased many years ago from QVC and I loved it! However, the pedal on the bucket just broke and I needed to replace it. The O-Cedar mop fits the bill. The great thing is that my old mop can be used with this new bucket, as well as the mop that came with it. That gives me some options! I cannot believe how this bucket really spins so much of the water out of the mop! The trick is to not hold the mop tight and just let it go! Does a better than my old bucket. I have hardwood floors and like to wet mop it occasionally in between using Bona w/special mop. These floors cannot get too wet because it will ruin them, so this mop works great! BTW, for those posting that they can't get the mop dry enough, it's a matter of just setting the mop head in the bucket, hold the upper part of the mop handle lightly (actually, just guide it without really grabbing onto it), and then pump the bucket lever with your foot 2-3 times. It's that simple and it's amazing how much water is spun out of the mop head! Many of the negative comments indicate problems with keeping the mop extended. I notice the mop was a bit tricky when I first added the upper part and it wouldn't stay in place. So, I removed the end cap (red hanging piece) and then grabbed the lower and upper parts of the rod and TWISTED IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS UNTIL IT LOCKED IN PLACE. It worked perfectly! Then I put the red cap piece back on and have absolutely no problems with it at all! It's tall enough for me (5'7" and my husband 6'0'). Also, some complaints have been made about the mop head being hard to manipulate, not thick enough, etc. What I've learned from using this type of mop in the past (different manufacturer) is to make sure the mop head is placed flat on the floor with the threads/ropes splayed out evenly and using a side swipe method. This works very well on my hardwood and tile floors. The triangle part is nice for getting into the corners. Also, some people have made comments that it doesn't go behind toilets and that isn't my experience. It goes easily behind my three toilets, but, to be honest, I clean that area every time I clean the toilets so I'm not depending on the the mop being my sole source of cleaning those areas. It's a nice mop and bucket and the price isn't that bad. A reviewer also mentioned that using the same water to wash and rinse is not the way to go, but that isn't an issue as far as I'm concerned. I use vinegar with the water, squish the mop really good in the water before spinning, and I feel that my floors are clean. Vacuuming/sweeping before mopping makes a HUGE difference and even with two cats (and they are slobs), this keeps my floors really clean. I just don't understand all the negative comments.

Best mop ever
Best mops ever. Great because you can remove and wash the head to keep a clean mop between uses. Nice with the foot pedal to ring it out while using.

I love it!
My household includes a untidy cat, that for some reason likes to urinate at unusual angels almost always resulting in cat urine on the floor near her litter box. I basically have to mop her litter area every day. Was using a wet-jet but the daily refills became expensive and the wet-jet would not get into the tile grout lines very well. Started looking for something besides the wet-jet I could use for fast daily clean up that did not involve me "wringing" any urine soaked mop heads with my hands. When I saw thIs item, I decided to give it a try. Extremely happy with the results. I bought this mop solely for the purpose of my cat urine problem, but loved how well it worked I now use it for my whole home (bought multiple mop heads refills-use one for my cat, one for the house). It feels study and comfortable. Not touching dirty mop heads or bending down. CONS: You do have to pump the peddle numerous times if you want a "dry" mop head- however it will never get truly dry, will remain relatively damp. I do not have moisture sensitive floors so this factor did not give me a problem. Floors will dry within 5 minutes or so. It is loud. Basically no mopping when quiet is needed or a light sleeper is sleeping. But did not find the noise uncomfortable. The mop head is a little small and has a plastic portion exposed on the bottom. The mop head does not swivel/tilt smoothly. You have to straighten it with your foot or using the bucket before peddle wringing it. I felt this was the biggest con. My Maintenance: I always wring it dry before putting it away. I store it with the mop head up and exposed to ensure it dries out over night. I throw the mop heads into my washers delicate cycle once a week. Haven't had any mop head odor or mold problems as of yet. Estimate the head refills will last me 3 months. Have had the mop for a little over a month. Would Recommend based on my experience so far. Pros out weigh the cons based on my preferences.

This mop is Awesome!
I have pretty severe RA in my hands and feet. Thanks to my family, I have a Scooba, which is very nice, but it's high maintenance. I got this mop because of its reviews and sometimes you just need to whip out a mop to clean up the mud path during the mud season. I don't know how well the mop heads hold up yet, but it's easy to remove and wash in the washing machine. The fibers are wonderful, really great at picking up the dirt. The bucket part does have a largish footprint of around 2 square feet. The bucket handle is nicely made and easy to lift when you have to carry with the palm rather than the fingers. The bucket holds probably a gallon of water, which isn't much, but it also allows for easy water changes. Mostly I got this for the spin function, since it's so difficult to use a "wring on the handle" mop any more. This spin mop is fabulous!!! You put it in the little gadget, step on the foot pedal a couple of times while allowing the handle to spin freely in your fingers, and it wrings out beautifully--allowing it to pick up the dirty water and spin it away. The pedal has enough clearance so you can use the side of your foot if you happen to have hammer toes or bunions, and I think you could even use your heel if you needed. The wrong very minor drawback is that the pivot head is a little stiff, so sometimes you have to push the mop head with your fingers to get the handle to stand straight up in the wringer gadget, in order for it to wring properly. But it just takes a bit of a push, so it's not a big detraction. Bottom line is I'm very happy with it and plan to get another so I don't have to carry it from upstairs to downstairs.
