I was having issues with other cables - The factory supplied PL-2303 cable to work on WIN 11. I was able to program the radio 6 mo ago on the same WIN 11 PC using CHIRP, but now the cable is throwing: unknown USB device (device descriptor failed) Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor failed. I expect the cables can be garbage, so I bought a HESENATE on Amazon but it is giving me the same issue. Troubleshooting: I tried all the uninstall / reinstall / restart driver hoopla I tried re-installing the supplied driver (Prolific-3.2.0.0-Driver) I tried installing the updated prolific driver from prolific I tried another WIN 11 computer I swapped out the original and replacement cables (same issues) I bought this cable for my win11 machine and it is working. Might have a FTDI chipset vs using PL-2303

Forever reason my old programming cable stopped working. CHIRP would not recognize the radio or the cable. Ordered this and right away CHIRP recognized everything and I was able to get some programming done on the 778.

Previous cable would not work since I upgraded to Windows 11 This one WORKS! If you are having issues with your programming cable after going to WIN 11, buy this cable. Way easier than trying to find a driver download, which I could not.
