Question 1

I use restasis and the instruction says i have to be very careful not to even touch the tip of the bottle.  can i use alcohol wipes on this gadget?

Yes, you can use alcohol wipes on Magic Touch. However, there is nothing inherently different about Restasis versus other drops, (except for Restasis having minimal to no preservatives) so it is a good idea to avoid touching the tip of the bottle or container of any drop to the eye lid.  This will minimize any contamination and in the case of Restasis this applies to the single use or the multi-use form. In fact, since Magic Touch is impregnated with silver ions which kill 99% of microbes, you are ensuring that there is no contamination since the container of Restasis never even touches your eye lid.

Question 2

If I put the medication on the lower lid, how does it get to the eyeball itself

You should be letting the drop make contact with the edge of the lid, exactly as if you were applying eye liner. The drop will transfer to the surface of the eye like a magnet attracting iron. The scientific name for this phenomenon is “capillary action.”

would this work for ointment for eye?

I don’t think this would work for that.  It is designed to hold a liquid drop and when you touch the drop to your lower eyelid it breaks the surface tension of the liquid drop and it goes in your eye.  With ointment you would literally have to shove it into your eye because the ointment is thick.  I use ointment at night and I know this would not work for that.

Question 4

I use 20 % dmso in my eyes to reduce my cataracts and macular degeneration... is this drop applicator material resistant to damage from dmso?

I kept the dropper but it didn't work for me. I still couldn't get drops to fall from the dropper--let alone "jump" to my eye!
