I love this fish by this particular company. It has great mild taste and texture. Good for sandwiches and soups. I order that regularly, especially during the Lent time. But today one of three cans was bended. Although packaging seems good, I wonder if it was bended before it went to the box. And that is sad. I am not going to return it, of course, but just want to express my disappointment.

First and foremost, why is it not mentioned in the product information that this is a product of China. Though the product is good, we do not fully know food handling practices coming out of China especially fish.

Thanks! Each can holds about 4 mackerel, or 8 halves. For me that is enough for two meals, with 4 halves on each. The bones are crunchy and soft. They were not quite as fishy as expected which was good, I would say less fishy than a sardine or smoked herring. There was a little oil in the can that had naturally come from the fish, otherwise these are in water with a little salt. The cans are not that strong and may be a little dented, however, contents have not been affected.

The taste is similar to other brands. Check the nutrition label. This brand has less fish and more water per can. 36 g of protein in a can vs. Chicken of the Sea, which has 66 g of protein per can. As others have observed, nearly every can in the box was severely dented. I don't think this was shipping-related, as the box was in perfect condition. I'm guessing what we're buying are seconds that were damaged in production. I won't be buying this again since the cans are so dented that it makes it difficult to open.

I use this to make mackerel cakes. Mackerel is one of the best fishes for you.

It's very FISHY: I too received severely dented cans - even though they were double boxed. The boxes were like new - not even a scratch, so the cans must've been previously damaged before my Amazon shipment. What are the odds that both boxes had exactly nine severely damaged cans & 3 moderately damaged? Called Bumble Bee & they just had me spin my wheels sending them photos to prove it, but they never contacted me back. The inner boxes & cans say Bumble Bee, San Diego. But cans also say "product of China." Both Bumble Bee & Amazon are responsible & need to fix this unacceptable problem.
