The BEST Dry Shampoo!
I have to say that Batiste is the BEST Dry Shampoo in my Opinion. I will not say that I have tried dozens, because I haven't, I have tried 3 different brands, and I fell in love with Batiste, no need to keep hunting! Let me start by saying that I have very fine, greasy/oily hair. I always heard people talk about not washing their hair everyday, and I thought they were gross haha! I just always assumed everyone had greasy hair. I started doing some research, because come on, the idea of not washing my hair meant not taking as long to get ready for work in the morning! I first tried Herbal Essensses Envy Dry Shampoo, and it was not a very good experience for me. I have dark brown hair, and that particular Dry Shampoo made my hair look like I get attacked by a bag of flour! Not to mention it felt so dry and stiff at the roots I could not even run my hands through my hair, I ended up putting it in a pony tail for the 2 days I used it. I guess this would be a good Dry Shampoo if you want to texture your hair because whatever way you do it, it stays that way all day! I didn't give up though, what works for some may not work for others has always been my philosophy, so next, after some research, I tried Rockaholic by Tigi. This is actually a dry shampoo that I still use and I actually do like it. I would recommend this one! It gets my hair feeling not oily, smelling good and not stiff. The only downside, and I think it may be a bottling issue, is that I've had some bottles that leave my hair a little grayish which makes it look dull. I'm not sure like I said if its the bottle or the product mix, because there are some that leave my hair looking exactly as brown as I have it. Enter Batiste, I ordered it out of curiosity because I saw a review online that said it was the best! I agree!!! Batiste has all the benefits that I find in the Rockaholic, except it has one extra plus I don't get from Rockaholic. It makes my hair feel sooooo soft and smooth, it feels like I just washed it. It smells very good too! I ordered the dark colored one and no white spots or grayish looking hair! This is a keeper for me! I think the problem with some people is that they do not know how to properly use dry shampoo. I was one of those, here is what I do. On days I don't wash, I spray my hair with the Dry Shampoo - On the Roots, with the bottle about a 1 ft to 1.5 ft from my head. Make sure to grab your hair and almost pull up, so that you expose the root areas. I then clip my hair up and get in the shower - I never brush my hair immediately after I spray it on. When I get out of the shower, I take my hair clip out and I massage my roots, to spread the dry shampoo then I brush my hair out and style it as wanted. That's it! So moral of this long review - If you want soft, shiny, like just washed feeling hair - Batiste is the best!!!

I. LOVE. This stuff. And I've tried them all.
My hairdresser has been yelling at me for years for washing my hair daily. He told me about dry shampoo, and that I should use it, but I just couldn't get the hang of it/get over the "feeling of clean" that I got from washing my hair every day. About three years ago, I chopped off all my (dead, dry, brittle) hair and started growing it again from my chin, and slowly started whittling down the number of times a week I washed my hair. My hair is now past my bra strap in the back, shiny, strong, and I wash my hair once every 5 - 7 days, and the ONLY reason is because of this stuff. I have fine, thick hair (meaning a lot of it, but the individual strands are fine) so the "bodyfying" effect in this stuff is great. I have very dark brown (but not black) hair. First I used Tresemme, Salon Grafix, BedHead, Big & Sexy, Suave (though I do LOVE their dry conditioner), the old school L'oreal stuff, the "Not Your Mother's" dry shampoo, cornstarch, baking soda, cocoa powder... but I keep coming back to this stuff. Here's why: 1. The TINTED powder. For someone with dark hair, my beef with dry shampoo has always been the greyish whitish nasty dull residue that builds up in my roots that while my hair doesn't look greasy, does look like I rubbed ashes in my hair. This stuff, with the dark tint, absorbs the oil and keeps my hair the dark color it should be. 2. It "poofs" things up. Like another reviewer, I'll sometimes use this in my clean hair, just a squirt at each temple, to add some extra oomph. But when I'm using it on days 2, 3, 5, whatever... it keeps my hair lifted (does that make sense?) and feeling fresh. Before, other dry shampoos would keep it from looking greasy, but I'd still lose the body after day 2, so I'd end up wearing my hair up after the second day. This stuff, I can get 4 or 5 days of down styles. 3. The feeling. The cold "psssht" when you spray it on your scalp has a nice cool rush that helps your scalp feel clean, even if it isn't. I don't mind the smell, though some reviewers seem to. Tips: I wear a shower cap, and then when I'm out of the shower, I use a round brush and my blowdryer to quickly (we're talking 30 seconds) dry my roots where the water seeped under the cap when I washed my face. Then I use quick little blasts on my whole hairline around my face. This is enough for the next day after washing, but on days 2 or 3, I'll separate my hair into sections about 2" wide and spray there, focusing mainly on my natural part. Then I pull my hair back out of my face and WAIT. Don't brush it right away! I usually do my makeup, or get dressed, or make a cup of coffee, whatever, but let it sit for a minute. When I'm ready, I BRUSH it through my hair, not rub with my fingers. WARNING: This stuff DOES leave a dark powdery residue on fingers if you rub it in. It washes right off, it's never stained any of my clothing, but it is gross if you get it under your nails and then don't notice until later. I use a paddle brush to distribute it, "scrubbing" lightly, but not so hard to tangle my hair. I think this helps with the lift. Then I round brush style my hair and boom - clean, shiny, voluminous hair. Sometimes when I roundbrush my hair near the scalp, there will be little dark dusties from this stuff, but I just brush them off with a makeup brush. I actually love my hair on the second day more than the day I wash my hair now; it styles better and holds the style better. If you have long hair, I'd recommend a dry conditioner after the first couple of days, if you use a lot of heat styling like I do. Helps keep your ends hydrated. Bottom line, I love this stuff. I have long hair, and one can usually lasts me about a month. Not as cost effective as just washing your hair more, but for the time it saves me every day (washing my hair adds 45 minutes with washing, conditioning and blowdrying and styling to my morning routine), it's totally worth it. I even keep a can in my gym bag for post workout lifts, if I need them.

Perfect thickener/filler for my top front .....
I am in my mid 30's...with medium/dark brown, long, and fine hair.....but lately my front section seems to be a a bit more thinner. And so my pale Irish/German heritage pale scalp shows more now. I literally had to wash it every day for volume. Then I used my sunglasses up there to hide the thinner part a bit more.(kinda just like Sammie does from the Jersey Shore tv show. Well, she does that when she doesn't have her fake hair piece in that is, lol) I too thought about buying a hair piece but I wanted something to work constantly. I had received a free sample of dry shampoo and I liked how it helped on my off wash days and it really did thicken that front area up. But it didn't do what I wanted like tinting my fine hair to help hide my white scalp better. Thank goodness I came across this! I had no clue that there were tinted versions out there. I read up on quality and this one had some of the best ratings for the price. I can now honestly say that this stuff ROCKS! Yes, the lower rated reviews are correct, as this is tinted folks and it will put some color onto your walls or forehead(especially if your not careful and spray it too close;) I was actually scared at first use because the deep brown actually gives a ashy/greyish brown cast "at first"..... but then all I had to do was rub my hands and brush through and it ended up blending in so perfectly. Also, as most dry shampoos, this is a bit dulling and I highly recommend using a quick light spray of a glossy finishing spray. I think that once I finish this bottle(which will be forever as I only need to use like 2-3 quick bursts)I might buy the Medium Brown shade and see if it might have a bit more of a golden dark brown to it. I am just so relieved that this makes my hair look like it used to! Oh, and it does bot really build up too bad if used for a few days! I also LOVE that this stuff does not really cover the scalp(like a lot of bald fillers I have read do) to hide the thinness. It just gives my strands fullness with a slight tint and it looks amazing and sexy again! lol! I just really do wish that I would have heard/found out about this stuff a few years ago!

Good Product!
This stuff works great and smells really good.... but once your use it DO NOTTTTTT scratch your scalp. You will have blackish brown gunk under your nails and if you're anything like me it will take you way longer than you would like to admit to realize that it is coming from your dry shampoo.

So perfect if you have dark brown hair. I love this brand!
Love this dry shampoo - what a great creation! Prior to my sister telling me about this very affordable brand that had a brunette / tinted version, I was using the typical dry shampoo that comes out white / gray onto my hair and then I have a hell of a time getting rid of the color (simply brushing never works easily). But THIS kind! It's amazing. It matches my hair color so well, and I think the video proves that point better than I can ever write, so please take a look at that. I think then the product sells itself. The smell isn't fantastic...this brand has a ton of different scents that I find more ideal than this, but its not a terrible smell either that makes it too off-putting. But that is my only criticism. I find this product so great that I usually have been going 6 days before really washing my hair. I would use this as it got greasy - which is around every other day. And I'm going that long because this dry shampoo makes it feel awesome and look even better as it's more "dirty." Can't speak more highly! Final note: careful of this product listing as the price changes a ton. You can typically buy this brown dry shampoo at target and its 5.99. Thats what I paid for it here as an add-on item, but it has since changed and a few more dollars. Just an FYI.

Best dry shampoo for dark hair!
my hair gets greasy so so fast between washes and is dyed black (natural color is dark brown). ive been looking for a good dry shampoo thatโs made specifically for dark hair for awhile because a lot of the regular ones donโt blend well and leave the white patchy residue, which is even more noticeable with dark hair. but this product blew me away! even after one spray and gently rubbing it into your hair you can see a difference. this stuff is my saving grace for when i donโt have time to wash my hair and itโs an oily mess! i will note though that after you rub it into your hair, your fingers do end up having some of the dark tinge from the product, but itโs very easy to wash or wipe off, and it definitely doesnโt stain your skin for a prolonged period of time.

Love this product!! Use it for women/men with thinning hair, those who need gray hair coverage, or just as a dry shampoo.
Love this product!! I am a female with thinning hair and I am only in my mid-30s. Ihave found that this product not only fills in the thinning areas, but also gives my hair body (& the illusion that my hair is thicker than it really is). I only wish the can would last longer. Maybe I overuse the product to make sure I get the best coverage, but I seem to re-order it almost every 3 weeks. The good thing is that you can sign-up for a subscription that delivers the product to you at set intervals which you choose (i.e., 1 can every two weeks, three weeks, etc.). The subscription plan comes with a discount for each can delivered in the subscription. You just have to find your interval needs. All said, I've used MANY hair fillers, tinted dry shampoos, and many other produce which I can't recall at the moment, and Batiste is the best value for the price. I can recommend it for women with thinning hair, those who need gray hair coverage, or just as a dry shampoo. The only drawback is that it leaves dark particles in the air during/after use, which land on your sink/dressing table/bathroom, etc. I have to use only dark towels to avoid embarrassing stains. I cover my sink with a large grey towel when I use the spray and let the particles fall onto the towel. It's a small sacrifice for a product that makes me feel able to face the world with confidence and to alleviate the anxiety that comes with loosing one's hair at a relatively young age. Try it for yourself. I bought this product on my own and have not been paid for my comments. I just decided to write this long review in the hopes that it might help other women (and men) going through the same heartache. You never know how important your hair is to your self image/self worth until you face the possibility of losing it. Hope this post helps.

WAS A GODSEND - NEW FORMULA GOOEY
. JAN 2014 UPDATE : They have changed the ingredients. My 4 star review from 2012 below is forced down to a 2. HAD TO UPDATE -- depressing. The new formula for "MEDIUM BRUNETTE" is now as gooey and thick as the "DARK BROWN" - doesn't do a good job at all - and colors what-ever you lay your head on by the second day. It didn't use to back in 2012 to first half of 2013. ** If you find the original bottle of "MEDIUM BRUNETTE" - a LIGHT BROWN colored bottle in stores - then buy it ! This original formula from Batist works beautifully. BUT BEWARE : the websites are still showing the original light brown bottle PICTURE ..!!! But I keep getting the "new", sticky, gross formula in the silvery bottle when I've bought from them; don't buy the old version from a website - that's just a picture. So far I can't find them in production except left-over in stores. ** May they read this hopefully and return to the original formula - ____________________ 2012 ORIGINAL FORMULA REVIEW (for the *original* BATISTE MEDIUM BROWN) (LEAVING THIS IF YOU FIND ANY ORIGINAL BOTTLES IN THE STORE.) - Does *NOT* color your whites; it just takes oil out. - Does NOT come-off on bedding / clothes / or anything your hair touches. Fantastic.. But it will get under your nails after 2-3 days of use when scratching your head. - Put on in bath / washable area; the brown spray will coat surroundings. - I use earplugs, close eyes, and hold breath when spraying; who knows what this stuff is.. - If you're prone to ACNE you may want to clean face and neck afterwards with something like a FAB Facial Radiance Pad; the spray gets all over and it aggravated my acne on my neck and back until I used these pads after each spray. - It gives great volume. To keep - barely brush hair afterward. .. My hair is very, very oily -- On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the worst) I hit a 20 after one day. The oiliness has forced me to wash it daily, for years. Plus I color my hair; this daily washing dulls the hair, and removes what-ever color I put-into it within 2 weeks. .. AMAZING PRODUCT. For me -- no white residue after use. Do not hold can next to head; follow instructions. 3-4 bottles are needed for one month with heavy use.. One bottle lasts about 5-8 days depending on how heavily you use it. This has allowed me to only wash my hair once every 3-5 days. The light brown formula now has a scent as of November 2012 that smells pretty good, and can be used on dark brown hair. .. IF YOU'RE NEW TO THIS LIKE I WAS : It says to spray 30 cm away from your head (approximately 1 foot). Do this -- by sections -- I spray my right temple area, rub that section in, spray again in a slightly different area, etc... about 10-20 times or until my entire head feels nice and dry of oil. The massaging of the stuff into the scalp as requested makes it feel like you're "scrubbing your hair". It's a surprisingly calming perk that makes me look forward to my sprays. Some companies claim that it's good to massage your scalp for blood circulation / hair growth. Either way it feels really good to me. It also adds body to my hair -- if I don't brush it out completely. It does NOT feel like "clean" washed hair however; it feels like there is thickening product in your hair. It looks very clean, and I've received compliments on its "healthy" look. .. I PUT IT ON IN THE SHOWER and close the door / shower curtain -- There is a thin film of color residue in the air that WILL LAYER on your sink and floor. Even the LIGHT BROWN does this. It's tough to see, but it is there and will collect on your carpet / sink / neck-back / you name it when you spray. You'll see it when you throw water on over your shower / bathtub afterwards. ALSO : I put earplugs in -- and close my eyes as well as hold my breath. Who knows what chemicals you're putting into you as you spray it all over your head.. Note the coating on the bathtub. Afterwards I now finish off with one steady spritz around my entire head with SG ( Salon Grafix ) Invisible Dry Spray Shampoo - to take the Batiste smell away . . SG Dry Spray Shampoo is too heavy for my oily hair - by day 2 my hair is matted with SG product. But it does smell better. So I mist it once in the air over my head after a thorough spraying of Batiste. One SG bottle lasts forever if used in this way. .. I get about 5-8 "days" of use -- That's 5-8 days x 15 squirts per day = about 1 week / 75-120 squirts per bottle at the least. .. My guess is that it combines with the oils and then becomes dust, as this dusty stuff does fall out onto my brush afterwards, and when I scratch my scalp 2-3 days into it I find the dusty stuff under my nails. HAIR STAYS SHINY WITH USE. I USE IT FOR BODY - even right after washing / blow-drying my hair I give a quick couple of squirts for body. YOUR FINGERS DO NOT TURN BROWN. YOU DO HAVE TO WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER APPLICATION. This is not common; most dry shampoos turn everything brown. No trail of brown on my pillows, fingers, or chairs I lean against with this one. AND AS NOTED ON THE SECOND-THIRD DAYS YOUR NAILS WILL GET BROWN UNDER THEM IF YOU SCRATCH YOUR HEAD. Comes-off easily. Still no residue on clothes /etc. .. DOWNSIDE : As of November 2013 it smells it smells alright. My mom still says it smells like "hay" :) "ORIGINAL" CLEAR / "MEDIUM" / AND "DARK" ALL WORK ON DARK BROWN HAIR -- no white residue -- I use the "Medium Brown" on my dark brown hair; the consistency is lighter than the darker spray on thin hair. .. THE TEST -- In any case I decided to do a trial to see how well this stuff works - and for how long. I went 3 days of not washing my hair, which included gardening in the hot sun for hours (and hours), hitting a hard work-out at the gym - spraying my hair after each oily incident - jogging. Nice nice nice results.. The third day of no washing with a second bout of 4 hour gardening in afternoon sun finally broke the spell of magic and I had to wash. Not bad -- !! For me -- this product is a godsend. .. The only thing that would sway me from this product is if another came to the scene with a better scent -- and more squeezed into the bottle, along with all the other perks this already has.

Divine Dark - Best recommended for those with brown colored hair.
Great dry shampoo for those with thin hair and an oily scalp who can't afford to wash their hair every single day. It instantly removes excess oil from unwashed hair and adds volume. Do wash it off as soon as you can, since dry shampoos shouldn't be left on your hair for too long.
