My physical therapist recommended this. Made a huge difference ! Alleviated pressure on my ischial bone and hips. Helped tremendously. i noticed a difference right away. Took a lot of stress off of my gluteal area. Nothing else out there like this. Would highly recommend.

I was fortunate to be able to "test" sit at a Purple store near me, if able to try out for yourself first before buying, I would reccomend you do so. I was initially wanting to buy the Royal one, but after sitting on one in the store, it was not near as soft for my needs. I sat on this Double one and it was perfect. I have a fused back, with three vertebrae fused at my lower back with 6 screws and plates, I had bought a brand new Ashley Furniture brand office chair that seemed comfortable enough when I tried it out at the store, but for sitting for 7 hours plus a day, ended up being very uncomfortable and required frequent getting up and moving around. Rather than return the chair and invest in a super padded, very expensive Big N Tall one that would likely work for me, I thought I would try this option first. I am happy to report it made a night and day difference for my repaired back and I can comfortably sit all day in my office chair, and my back and rear end are extremely thankful for my purchase of this cushion. It is pretty heavy, but this is to be expected for a dual thickness Cushion, it is not overpowering but it does have some heft, and would likely be a bit of a nuisance if you wanted to carry this around for different seating situations, but is doable. It did have some smell upon opening as others have commented on, but it was minor and not overpowering. I just put it in my bathroom and opened the window for 24 hours. It fits snugly in the cover, I have mine smaller honeycomb side up (part you sit on) , and larger side down on the chair (as suggested). It does move around a bit on my office chair as some have also made note of. I will try some grip tape and see if that makes any difference. I am very happy with this Cushion so far, it fits the bill for my needs, and is very comfortable, it does compress quite a bit while on it, so the double thickness is not a issue for me as far as raising me up on the chair, I am 6'2 and over 200 pounds for reference, someone smaller and lighter may experience a bit of a lift in the chair while sitting on it. **Exceeded my expectations, as a side note the same Cushion in the actual Purple store cost $50 more than here on Amazon, and salesman said they would not match online prices even though this Cushion ships direct from the actual Manufacturer, so try on in store if possible, then buy here on Amazon to save $$.**

I absolutely love this Purple seat cushion pillow! It’s incredibly comfortable and I really appreciate that it has two different sides — one firm and one softer — so you can choose what feels best. It provides great lumbar support and has completely relieved my tailbone pain. I can now stand up with ease without that sharp discomfort I used to feel. I truly wish I had bought this sooner — it’s a total game changer and nothing like any other cushion on the market. The material is also amazing; it stays cool and doesn’t give you that hot, sweaty seat feeling. Highly recommend!

What I like: it's comfy. I can feel one side is a bit firmer than the other. It's very cooling on my tush, which is something I have never considered before. Neutral for now: It does feel a bit weird siting on it. What I don't like: it slides forward in my office chair, so I have to readjust it daily or more. The material of the casing could be less stretchy. I did purchase the skinny 1-inch one too for my car. I live in the south, so I am concerned about it getting too hot in my car and falling apart like I have heard about (with pictures online). I could not find any thing about that on their website, but they do mention it (in small type) to the packaging insert. :-/ Despite the negatives, I do recommend it. I will probably add that non-skid material used for rugs between the seat and the cushion.

Very high-quality 2 inch thick gel reversible pad. Has helped me deal with sciatic pain in my hip and leg. I had a recommend this product, though expensive worth the price!

Unfortunately my job requires I sit for ungodly hours staring at my computer screen, and so at the end of the day, my butt is /aching/. I considered getting a new chair but after some research it dawned on me that I could just try a cushion. I was looking for a purple-colored cushion, really, but of course this popped up and I was slapped in the face by the price tag. Out of morbid curiosity I looked at the listing and the reviews, and I thought to myself "why not". Even with the exorbitant price point it was less than the chair is was looking to buy, so I bit the bullet. When it arrived I was very skeptical, it felt very flimsy and not at all firm enough, I thought I'd fall through. I'm only 120lbs but my butt is bony as hell, and I thought I wouldn't have enough area to distribute my weight over the cushion. After two months of use, I do not regret a single dollar. I haven't been sore once while using this cushion. I have to work for hours at a time and this has completely gotten rid of any soreness. I'm using the same chair as before and I don't have any problems (except with the added height, my chair's headrest is now unusable). Even though the price is high it saved me at least $200, so I'm very happy.

I would just like to start out saying that Purple's customer service has been amazing! Jeni specifically was the representative that helped me and she was very attentive and responsive to my concerns. When the cushion arrived there seemed to be a few splitting marks at the edge of each side and when I showed photos she went ahead and sent me a replacement. I also did not need to go through the hassle of returning the defective one. I've used this cushion now for about two months and I've tested two other cushions from amazon (knock off's) as well as the ultimate and royal cushion from Purple, both of which weren't for me since they were extremely too firm. I am around 125lbs and petite, so unfortunately they both felt like i was sitting on a wooden chair. The knock off's were extremely thin and it was like i was using nothing so i returned those as well (learned that not all gel cushions are made the same). For the double cushion, it was the only one that made me feel a difference! It is plush and actually DID something. I am using it on a office chair handed down to me that has lost its cushioning so it was like sitting on cement, I needed something to hold me over before i can buy another office chair, and for me the double cushion sufficed. Now it didnt change my life and take away the pain completely, as I unfortunately still feel pain in my lower back/tailbone (but that could also be because of no lumbar support from my office chair so i don't want to put the blame completely on the cushion) and after 30 minutes to an hour of sitting i do have to reposition myself or stand up from my chair as I still do feel pain. That being said, it is usually recommended to get up and move around every 20 minutes or so of sitting so with that in mind it may actually be helping me! Using the cushion with an office chair that has more cushioning than my current chair may improve its efficacy though. I am using the smaller waffle side up and the larger side down, I believe they state for harder surfaces you should be using the smaller squares on the bottom but i felt more cushion with it facing upwards. Our bodies are all so different, so this may be comfier for you than it was for me or it may do nothing, so I would suggest trying it and then deciding! Hope this helps!

Following a Life-changing spine injury, going anywhere in a vehicle was awful, especially potholes and the like. After talking to a lot of people, especially long-distance drivers, the majority of recommendations were for the Purple Ultimate - which was too large for my car seat and hellishly expensive to order on Australia. This is the same thing, but in a slightly smaller size. It is really great at distributing pressure evenly, so there's no pressure points, and also absorbing those sharp jolts from potholes and the like. Recently tested on a 400km trip - my longest in a year - and it was amazing. I've tried the cheapest alternatives and they're rubbish by comparison. As a final vote of confidence, my 85-year-old dad tried it, and ordered one for himself the next day.

Purple seat cusion by cuonsdince while scrolling youtube it wasnt even an AD but someone praised it for being comfortable and helpful for driving long hours. So since I have a low back problem I didnt hesitate to try it. Since delivered it took me a day and then I couldnt sit in my office or car travel without it. I strongly recommend it

I spend many long hours at a desk and my hips really were hurting at the end of the day (gaming chair sucks for butt cushioning), so I was looking for something to ease the pressure. The reviews on this were spectacular so I expected something amazing... It took me a month to convince myself it was worth the high cost for a butt cushion. Unfortunately, it's just ok, which is super disappointing consider how really expensive it is. The gel squares compress strangely when you sit down and move around (and make wet noises when you move/get up) and it took a while to get used to it and now that I am it's fine. I don't think it's better than maybe buying a nice dense foam cushion but I haven't yet tried it in summer when bums get sweaty so it might be good then. I recommend going out and just buying a nice dense foam cushion instead, like the kind they make foam mattresses out of. If you can splurge on this thing ...it's fine, just not amazing. My butt and hips still hurt after about 6 hours.
