Does this involve any kind of subscription service to utilize its features

Matterport notoriously scrapes your customer's data from images and calls or emails your customer to offer better services for a cheaper price, essentially stealing your customers. Highly recommend anything else. It was the deciding factor for me to go with the theta z over the matterport pro 2 (besides the cost savings and no subscription).

Can you use any tripod or do you need to use a specific one?

No, there's not a specific tripod to use but don't cheap out and get one that is too dinky for the task. You want to ensure that your scans will be stable and not shaky. And of course you'll be moving it around a lot so best to get a high quality tripod that will last

Does it provide height information of the room and alle measurements or only pictures?

The Measurements functionality gives users the ability to share measurements taken in a Matterport 3D digital twin with anyone, allowing them to accurately measure rooms, windows, doors, or furniture with a simple click or tap on a PC or mobile device. I contacted Matterport 2x via email, they keep flooding my inbox with a ton of messages, but none answering my question: Is this only for realtors?

I am an architect who uses the Matterport to generate accurate existing conditions building information models. The realtor function is more general, we use the Matterpack add-on for the point cloud. We also share the 3d navigable image to our mechanical, electrical, structural, and plumbing engineers for improved engineering coordination and contractor pricing.
