Can this machine sew through faux leather? I like the features, but want to make sure it can handle the material I have.

I have not tried it, but my guess is that with a leather needle it will go through 2 layers.

Can the MOD30 sew through a denim hem with ease and does it have a stretch stitch option?

It helps to have a "denim" needle. Sew slowly. You can also buy a "height compensating tool" that really helps at the seams.

How many stitches per minute?

You can control the speed of the machine and therefore control stitches per minute.

What size bobbins does this machine use?

Class 15, the J printed bobbins are proprietary to Janome they are not necessary. Just make sure they are flat top Class 15 and not the curved top and you will be fine.
