Question 1

Does this displayport kvm support display emulation(making a computer think the monitor is still there when the kvm has switched to another computer)?

I don't know - that sounds like a question for the manufacturer. It may be doing something like that, though: for both my personal Windows laptop running Windows 10 and my work laptop running Windows 7, when I switch between them any windows opened on the second display are positioned correctly when I switch back as long as the computers remains active and unlocked. On the Win10 computer it appears to remember the correct display, size and position of each window unless brought out of sleep mode when it doesn't own the 2nd display. The Win7 computer will always move and resize windows back to the main display on being unlocked or brought out of sleep whether or not it owns the 2nd display..

Question 2

Are the console usb ports 3.1? my mouse and keyboard are usb 3.1, but the picture looks like the console usb ports are outdated/legacy.

the keyboard and mouse USB ports are black so I assume USB 2.0. There is 1 USB 3 port for the console and the connection from each computer is blue, type B, so presumably USB 3.

Question 3

Any issue with docks (me: hp elitebook and thunderbolt), and will a usb hub work for wireless peripherals? that sounds ideal!

IOGEAR says: There is no guarantee with KVM's and docs . The GCS1934M has 2 USB peripheral ports . Most wireless keyboard and mice should work however just like Docs there is no guarantee . Thank you for choosing IOGEAR

Question 4

Can this support 2 convesion cables 1) usb-c to diplay port (from computer to iogear) and 2) display port to hdmi (from iogear) to monitor?

IOGEAR says :  It is not recommended to use video adapters with this KVM however it you do use Active adapters . IOGEAR does make adapters so check out the line at IOGEAR.com . There is never any guarantee when using video adapters. Thank you for choosing IOGEAR
