Provides the necessary UVB light.
I leave this light on for at least 10 hours a day for the required UVB light my turtle needs for a healthy shell. It must be replaced once per year even if the light doesn't burn out.

I bought this a year or so ago and haven't had to replace it yet. Works great

Bad bulbs
I bought two bulbs are ready from them and they both did not work. One was burnt out within a day. The other one is doing the same thing that the first one did and the box came in damaged. Maybe I got two lemons, but two in a row kind of a little worrisome.

Lower light intensity than a 5% uvb from a main brand? Suspicious
This product doesn't seem on the up and up. Im concerned that it doesn't operate as advertised with its light output not equalling a bulb of a lower uvb level. Will update as i have more info.

Do not recommend
Bought these for the reasonable price, but don't waste your money. They were back up bulbs so it took a little bit before they were in use, once they were they quickly burnt out. Both of them! I'm talking like within a week. Ended up without UVB bulbs for my beardies for a couple days which defeats the whole purpose of having back ups!

Bulb stopped working on the first day of use.10
Used it for my bearded dragon. Within 24 hours of installing it the bulb had failed.

defective from the start.
Installed new bulb into fixture. Light output was dim. Bulb flickered before stabilizing. Lasted less than a week before going completely out. Lamp made in China. Too much hassle to return. Bought original replacement bulb locally. Original lamp was made in Germany. Do not recommend.

looked all over in local pet shops couldn't find until i checked Amazon I'm a happy camper
