My First Songbook: Volume I features colorful and easy-to-read music with lyrics, notation, and hand-signs for 14 beloved kids songs: Twinkle Littler Star, Row Your Boat, Farmer in the Dell, Sweet Beets, Avocado, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Hot Cross Buns, On Top of Spaghetti, Avocado, When The Saints Go Marching In, Jingle Bells, Ode to Joy & Old MacDonald. My First Songbook is a collection of easy-to-play songs written in big, colorful and easy-to-read music notation. Even if youโve never played an instrument, using this book and a color coded instrument, you and your kids will be developing your musical ears and playing an instrument in no time. The colors in the book match the worldโs most popular note-coloring system, Chromanotes(TM). This makes it perfect for Boomwhackers, bells, or a piano with color coded stickers. Each song also has a Solfege (Curwen) Hand Sign section. By singing with the hand signs, you attach pitch to a kinesthetic movement which helps develop your childโs sense of Perfect Pitch. Review: Perfect for teaching music to little kids - As a homeschooling family we have searched for the best curriculum and workbooks for our kids. Music is a tough subject to teach to beginners. We have been very pleased with this company and this workbook, as it is a great introduction to learning the do-re-miโs and basics of music and music theory. Review: Easy for young learners - My son is six and started piano lessons a couple of months ago. This book makes it really easy for him to learn basic piano concepts, and he can learn new songs easily thanks to the color-coded notes (his piano teacher put stickers on our piano keys to match).

Educational and perfect for budding musician
Great intro songs for desk bells. My 6 and 7 year old love it and were ecstatic to be able to"perform" a concert for their grandparents.

Ok
When designing a book I think it shouldnโt be so crowded. Too much info per page for a small child. A bit distracting. Maybe for older kids. The info is ok

Book in bad shape
The book is creased, curled, and in poor shape. I didnโt know or expect to pay $25 for a used beginner book.

Good for 5 year old
I bought is for my grand daugther (5 years old). She watches prodigies.com videos, and she is able to play some of the songs in the book by herself. Well written and designed, but a bit pricey.

Very easy to use!
I bought this book after watching Mr. Rob on YouTube. For me, as a person who is not very familiar with playing a musical instrument, it was super easy to explain my 3 year old son how to play the musical bells. I even discovered these bells thanks to Mr. Rob. The book itself is very clear and has big notes, so it's easy to play and look at the notes at the same time. A wide range of kids songs, great job!
