A great improvement over the factory oil filter canister
I recommend this conversion for early Baxters or Caymans. The factory canister filter back flow valve often fails causing dry starts. You get a new back flow valve with every canister filter. I recommend using the WIXX oil filter.

Worth while replacement if your plastic canister is leaking or worn. Uses 5.7 Chevy spin on filter you can find anywhere cheap

Easy to install and instills confidence in the filter system of your M96/M97
I installed this at the same time I replaced my IMS bearing in 2019. It’s worked great since. I have used the Napa Gold 1042, Wix 51042, and the Bosch 3332 filters with great success. Unrelated to this spin on filter adapter, I’ve used LiquiMoly oil with the 997 and have had no issues. This is a great product!
