This thing is awesome for the price. The plastic is on the thin side but if you’re using this for a smaller bird you should be fine. I use it for my green cheek conure which is perfect...it would also work for a cockatiel or similar sized bird. Although, the perch may be too small for a smaller parakeet. The perch part is a slightly slippery yet textured plastic, so I covered it with twine for grip. You could also wrap it with vet-wrap (bandage) for your bird to grip onto as well. It cleans up super easily with a little diluted white vinegar and water. All the parts are detachable and customizable for the perch orientation you want. I love this thing because it allows me to have my bird out and about around the house without much fuss. The catch bowl/tray works to catch seed/poop mess which is a huge plus. Overall worth the small price.

This perch is perfect for training. We bought it to potty train our GCC and she caught on with clicker training in just 1 day. The cone is large, but I'm not too sure that it would catch everything with a larger bird. There are two negative things about this perch; first, it's extremely light so if you have a larger bird or hope to have your small bird fly to the perch then you'll want to weigh down the feet. We think a circular bean bag will do the trick. Second, the T portion of the perch is slippery. With tiny feet, our GCC had a hard time stabilizing herself. This may not be an issue with larger birds. We fixed it by wrapping hockey tape around the T to make it grippy. Added bonus--she loves to rub her beak on it now. The perch comes disassembled so the perch can be broken down for travel, cleaning, or putting the weighted circle around the feet. Despite these two issues the perch is perfect in size and height. It was exactly what we wanted and the cone is super easy to clean. One squirt of cage cleaner and one wipe with a paper towel and it's as good as new. We haven't had any staining appear yet on the cone.

I love this perch! I have been meaning for some time to post a review to recommend my “alteration,” if you will. This stand would not be my bird’s go-to resting spot outside of the cage if it weren’t for the large washcloth I tape to it for good traction and comfort. As you can see in my pics, she loves it. She is even entertained by tearing apart the washcloth from time to time. Every few months I replace the washcloth. I also wipe clean the basin if she’s dropped food or her own “stuff” there after every use for easy clean up. Even if it were to harden, the smooth plastic material makes cleaning really easy. The bottom also detaches from the five-pronged stand, but you can either tape that together with boxing tape (no biggie), or use your pinky when you grab it to hold it in place. (Definitely not a deal breaker.) It’s probably made this way for flexible usage to walk around holding your bird. This stand is especially useful when my little birdie is moody and might want to bite, but I still want to give her some out of cage time. She will always trust the stand and I can move it at arm’s distance if she’s feeling bold and tries to lunge in for a bite. I highly recommend, but don’t forget the washcloth!

We ordered this for a Cockatiel and its perfect. This is a great way to keep things all neat and clean while my 8 year old drags her bird all over the house. She loves sitting her bird on the perch and reading to him. Reading to him has become one of their favorite routines in the evening. They also use this at the piano too. She sits him near her while she plays music for him. He enjoys dancing and swaying along with the melody. I would have preferred that it came with skid material on the bottom since it is just plastic but its easy to add a little sports wrap around the feet or use non-skid pad to sit it on if you intend on using it on slippery surfaces. Our bird loves this perch and we sometimes hide treats inside the hollowed perch side so it gives him something to entertain him while he is on it. Cleans up easy too. Very useful and fun item.

I have loved this perch in the past. I have used 2 of them (put in 2 different rooms) that I have ordered in the past from Amazon to use as a training and potty perch for my green cheek conure. I ordered 2 more last week and they came with two different colors - the "t" piece is a beige color while the bottom section is white. The picture looks barely noticeable but it is distinctive in person. My bird can tell the difference and now refuses to stay on the new perches. Not sure why the manufacturer did this but birds can tell the difference. I feel like I wasted my money.

This thing cracked with no effort in putting it together which my three year old could do it's that simple. It spins at the slightest touch in which scares my birds and the bottom falls out as soon as you pick it up. I was so disappointed in this but the idea was there just not well put into action.. The item was as advertised in the description, arrived in the correct time frame and was shipped well and all in tact upon delivery. When the price is right, Amazon is my number one go to for almost everything. The Prime membership is (a lifesaver sometimes even) well worth it and the fact you can keep things in the cart until the price drops makes it a huge shopping tool. Thank you.

My cockatiel wasn't scared or angry at a lot of things but he didn't want this perch. The bowl part ends with a small gap for your hand to hold the thing and then there is immediately the claw-looking base making it nearly impossible to hold the thing and move it around with a scared bird on it. I am a very small female and had trouble with finding room for my hand to hold the stand comfortably. I wish it had come with a stand that extended from within it so that I could have put him in better places; birds don't like to be near the ground. Also, it was very light-weight so that it was always easy to accidentally push over or off of something and then the bowl part of it would just disassemble. I wouldn't buy this again. I still have it because my bird got out, aka likely died, and I can't seem to part with "his" belongings. I have never gotten over that bird.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stand for my African grey parrot. I’ve had it for two and a half years and it’s still one of my favorite.It’s great at catching her poop (but not food).It did take her a while to learn how to balance on it without tipping it forward.I just wish if it had heavier legs so she could climb on to it without my help and fly off without it falling.BUT, even with those two issues, I still HIGHLY recommend it for everyone with a small to medium size parrot. It’s so practical and light weight so I constantly take it with me everywhere we go even to the vet.

Great product, sturdy and my parrot loves it. It catches any food droppings and poop, just wipes away.Wish I had known about these a while ago

A great perch to use around the house instead of one of the larger stands on wheels. My Quaker loves this perch bc I can take him all around the house, having him sit with me at the table, on the couch, at my desk. My only disappointment is that the t-stand piece is quite slippery and often my parrot slips and loses his footing. Would prefer if it was a non slip surface. You can see that they have tried to add some texture to the perch so it's more like a branch but it is not even close to adequate. Still, this does allow it to be easily cleaned so I suppose that's the trade off. I highly recommend this product!
