Really keeps the moths and any other bugs away with very little odor. The coat closet is upstairs where it gets very warm in the summer so these really help keep pests away.

So far, so good. If you put this in a closet, be sure to put painter's tape around the door and wait at least a week to kill your moths. The fumes released are poisonous to humans and animals. If the door has a keyhole, put painter's tape over that, too. The smell is very strong. Once you have killed your moth population be sure to air your closet/woolens/linens/silks to get rid of the residual odor. Be sure to start with sticky moth traps (also bought on Amazon) in the closet as well to capture the males to break the breeding cycle. This product did kill our moths, thankfully.

My favorite all time reefer galler for Moths. (and kills other bugs too I've noted-silverfish + roaches in the immediate vicinity of the cakes ) Works the best to get the little moths too and it lasts longest of any others I've tried. I use 2 ways, either hang a couple in the metal circular hanger made for them, or take one cake and just open up the cellophane all the way and let the cake sit out on my closet shelf. I put those on old saved plastic lids to lunch meat containers used as a small tray. I get away using less the 2nd way and for my size farmhouse closet it's enough to do the job. I've been using this brand since the 90s when I could only find at a certain local franchise store back then. I've had 1 bad order, last year when an Amazon vendor sent me old stock. It contained multiple cracks in all crushed cakes --as well as worn, dog eared and partially pushed in boxes ---but this time everything looked fresh and no trouble with the products' condition. There is a smell from them inside the closet but it doesn't cling to the clothing. You wont be wearing the old style moth ball smell on your outfits! This is the 3rd order for Reefer Galler on Amazon now.

Here's the thing, you have to be able to kill the eggs and larvae before it feeds and this is the only product line that I know of that does this. I spent years buying and placing the little cardboard ^tents and closet hangers to no avail Sure, there were a lot of trapped adult moths and adult moths lay eggs but there is no way to know whether you have trapped an adult before it has laid eggs and I don't think any trap can guarantee 100% success. You still have eggs and larvae and ruined clothing. This product works and I only have to buy it once a year. Not every 3 months like the tents and I also can get away with only 1 per closet. In fact, after using it for 2 years, I have not seen any moths in almost a year now. I am glad that I found this product and agree that it doesn't smell good but I'll take that over ruined expensive clothing any day!
