Adjustable Height Wing Chun Dummy Mook Yan Jong IP Man Wood Training Target Dark Brown

I started learning Wing Chun about six months ago and there are no schools or instructors where I live, so I wanted to work on a wooden dummy to stand-in for a partner. I looked at several options before buying this one. It arrived in good shape, and the base plate was not bent or damaged as mentioned in other reviews. I use it indoors, and so far, after a few months of use, I've had no cracks appear. I'm really happy with this. I bought a sand-bag weight to place on the back to help stabilize it more (it's a 70-lb cross-fit weight made for working out at the beach that you fill with sand...not my thing but it makes a good, tidy weight for the dummy). I have become kind of addicted to using this throughout my day. It's more therapeutic than I would have thought. The problem is finding good training tutorials and drills, but once you find some that work for you, it's a lot of fun to go through them on the dummy.

Amazing wooden dummy! Looks like it's right out an Ip Man movie... beautiful, sturdy and functional. Easy to assemble and fits in a small room if you're low on space. I would highly recommend this product!!

It's varnished well enough; putting it together was heavy but simple(5-10 minutes), and it comes with a small wrench for the bolts, as well as a spare bolt just in case It feels sturdy enough, it just wobbles alot; I put a couple 35lb. dumbbells on the back just to make sure it travels less. For its price, I feel like it's a good purchase; I certainly wouldn't buy anything cheaper, especially if it's not wood! *update* after 3 weeks now I have noticed a small crack/splinter on the leg peg

I would have preferred a larger diameter log, but it’s adequate for training. Fabricated, not a solid log body. I like the simplicity of height adjustment and space saver base. Very pleased with it so far.

Pros: strong wood, good varnish Cons: expecting it to break any minute The main wooden post is held in place by sitting on top of a metal rod. The rod is welded to a metal plate which gets bolted onto the wooden base board. However, the weld that holds the metal rod and plate is together is really poor quality. Together with the tremendous weight of the main post and the constant movement from training on the dummy I can easily see the dummy snapping at some point if i'm not super gentle while training. Simply using a professional quality weld would make this dummy a 5 star for me. But instead its a 3 star.

Love the item, use it every day. Good wood and craftmanship. Easy to install and can use anywhere.

A good training material for a martial artist specially for a wing chun beginner like me.

The metal base that holds the trunk of the wooden dummy came slightly bent at a corner, i had to forcefully bend it back before and during screwing it into the wooden base. That is my only complaint, the dummy itself feels and looks great. Definetly a good purchase, as some of the other reviews say, I also reccomend putting some weight on the back part of the wooden base, as with decent force it may wobble the trunk slightly, (not a big deal anyways). Great feel, great look, decent price, great performance. 4/5 For sure. UPDATE: After I contacted the seller and verified the damaged parts that came, they quickly and efficiently replaced all the parts and sent them over. Due to this I will rate this product a 5/5.
