MSR Alpine Stainless Steel Camping Plate, Silver

Did I mention it was round? Truly multifunctional. It's very light, probably not useful for disciplining loud campers like a cast iron pan would be, but you could fling it like a Frisbee with some success. One side is concave, which comes in handy. Also serves as a convenient hand warmer if you hold it over the fire. And in a pinch, it would make a funny hat! Or a really out-of-tune kettle drum. I guess you could use it for food, if nothing else.

The plates are lightweight yet solid. I chose them over Titanium. They are easy to hold in your hand. The rounded edge is perfect for keeping items in the plate. I purchased 4 plates. Paper plates of the same size will also fit nicely in the plate for extra support and easy cleanup after serving. The stickers applied from the factory peel off easy as in my video. The residue from the sticker leaves a discoloration in the plate as my pictures and video show. I utilized Goo Gone glue remover to rub it down and washed them with a scratch proof sponge. They are not sticky but the discoloration remains. MSR needs to come up with a different type of glue process. Overall, I think they are good plates. Have only used them for one camping trip so far. Time will see how they hold up to scratching and use. Since Covid, everything is more expensive, but these plates could probably be $1-2 dollars cheaper. I am purchasing some other MSR camping cookware.

I ordered this plate to be a multi-funtion piece of gear. There is so much that can be done with this plate. So far I have used it to eat off of, make deep dish pizza, hot biscuits, used as a resting device for utensils while cooking as well as baking a small cake. (hint: divide the box ingredients by fourths and you will have a nice cake) I had no issues whatsoever with the glue that others seem to be having. I can still see where the sticker was, but there is absolutely no glue left behind. This is nothing more that a minor blemish and in no way effects the use of the plate. This plate is lite and just the right size to feed one person. If using for a deep dish pizza pan, will feed two. Stainless steel does release heat rather quickly so your meal will cool off a little quicker than expected. One good way to keep your meal nice and warm is to use the 3L MSR Alpine pot to heat water and then when you are ready to eat, rest the plate on top of the pot (with no lid) and the heat from the water will keep your food warm. Then you have warm water to clean the dishes. It fits very nicely on top of my MSR Alpine two pot cookware. Nests like a dream in the stuffbag. I can't say enough good things about this. Don't just look at it, purchase it. You won't be disaapointed when you discover all of it's possibilities.

Absolutely love the feel and quality of the plate, the stainless steel is perfect, it's light, doesn't stick, and is the perfect design for me. Only issue is it's a little small, which makes for easy travel, but not what I had hoped.

I had one of these plates in my in-box, giving some thought to ordering one, but wasn't quite sure. When I hit the order button I realized that I had not removed the plate from the shopping cart. When it arrived, I was so impressed with the overall quality that I immediately ordered three more, to make a set of four for camping. Let's be honest... they are just stainless steel plates (and a bit pricey for that), but they are very lightweight, the shape is excellent (they have a slightly 'bowled' design), the quality is obvious, and the size is ideal for holding a camp meal. And they are easy to clean. Very nicely done, and highly recommended if you happen to be in the market for stainless steel plates for camping.

I most definitely like these plates they are quite Universal and can be used for all types of events outdoors and they don't have the tendency to break. They're light and you can put a few of them together you can also use the plates to support something in between if you're packing your gear. I have not tried it myself but if you were to need to heat it up I assume you could. But I would suggest check specs before you do that. I would definitely purchase more of these if I were to go back out and outdoors. These are definitely worth the value of purchasing this

This work really well for me and good value

I needed an affordable and durable plate for our cats. This is perfect. The lip is just high enough to contain their food as they lick it up, but it's shallow enough not to rub their whiskers. Note that the price on these varies; we paid less than eight dollars each. I'm thinking about buying a few more for us to use. They are a nice medium size and would work well for adults or kids. I wish I had bought these for our kids instead of the cheap (and probably toxic) plastic plates they have. It's true that the glue stain from the sticker won't come off with normal soap, but a quick scrub with Bar Keeper's Friend will remove it. (BKF is available at most grocery stores and is the best cleaner I've ever found for metal kitchen equipment.) Sometimes stainless steel is difficult to clean, but these look perfect after a quick trip through our dishwasher.

A metal plate. Better than plastic. Light weight for steel. Quality brand.

It's a nice size, very lightweight plate. Should be good to pair with my Trangia setup!
