rOtring 600 Mechanical Pencil | HB 0.7 mm | Red All-Metal Body | Hexagonal Barrel

This has become my favorite mechanical pencil. I am a Sudoku fan and a good pencil is a must.....this one has enough heft to be able to feel it in your hand. It uses HB 0.7 lead which is easy to write with. There is an eraser in the top of the pencil. Mostly though is you can feel the quality of the pencil and the red finish makes it easy to find. I love it1

I love rotring, especially the 600 series. I don’t use the eraser, unless in a pinch. The quality of the pencil is great. I have had numerous people comment on it. The paint will chip and wear, but that adds to it. It’s a writing instrument and does a good job. Be careful to not drop it, however, once the tip is bent, you might as well call customer service. This is part of my daily use set in being paired with a 600 pen (of a different color). I have 2B in it right now and like how I can get different lead harnesses. I also have the 0.5mm in red, but don’t use it as much. Sizing is very close to a regular consumable pencil in feel, but with a sharper hexagonal up top and the knurled grip area. Again, it will wear from a paint standpoint. If you know a pen/pencil geek and they don’t have one, find their favorite color and order them one with a rotring eraser block, like a 20 or 30, with some HB and 2B spare. They come in several colors. I somehow was designated the pen/pencil orderer in the office and ordered several for all the managers. A majority still use the same one a year/two later.

It it’s a super pencil, love the heft of it, construction, pretty much everything about it. I an definitely not a drafter or anything, but I think it would do great for a professional. I do want to get another one.

This pencil feels really solid, and the matt finish and the grip feel great. It's the same basic design and build quality as my rOtring rapid PRO which I've had for 15 years, but slimmer and shorter. At first I thought it must be lighter as well, but in fact it's nearly the same (my scales measure 22g vs 23g for the rapid PRO). I think it's because the weight distribution is better, being less back-heavy, so it doesn't feel like it's going to tip backwards out of your fingers. If money was no object, I'd replace all our mechanical pencils with this one.

Love the pencil as it's sturdy and good the right heft for writing. Initially was sent a pencil which didn't meet the expectations and product description but a replacement was sent. It was great. Pencil is on the expensive end and if you can afford it's worth it.

Ich bin absolut begeistert von diesem Druckbleistift. Mein letztes Modell sah zwar von außen nach Metall aus, hatte aber im Inneren einen Kern aus Kunststoff – und genau an dieser Schwachstelle ist er natürlich auch zerbrochen. Bei diesem Stift ist das anders: Vollmetall-Konstruktion: Das Gehäuse fühlt sich extrem wertig und stabil an. Hier gibt es keine billigen Plastikteile, die nach ein paar Monaten nachgeben. Langlebigkeit: Man merkt sofort, dass dieser Stift für eine gefühlte Ewigkeit gebaut wurde. Haptik: Er liegt angenehm schwer in der Hand, was für eine tolle Kontrolle beim Schreiben oder Zeichnen sorgt. Wer genug von Wegwerf-Produkten hat und ein Werkzeug sucht, das wirklich hält, was es verspricht, ist hier genau richtig. Dieses Teil wird mich vermutlich mein Leben lang begleiten.

Looks as gorgeous as it feels and feels as quality as it looks. I think the weight is about perfect, the action is smooth and reliable and it feels like it was a pretty good price for this quality.
