I have the filter number40691001. f7. i live in the usa what is the right replacement filter for this? because it looks like that is only in the uk

Your filter is producing magnesium-enriched water and is intended to process approx.100 gallons of water. It seems you should be able to use other grohe blue filters of S, M, L sizes, including 40412001 (that’s large one). There is one with active carbon, too, but it did not work for us. Your filter heads should fit the replacement, and unless something changes you won’t need any adaptor.

Hello, it does not look like this filter is available in the US. The product is only showing up on the UK website. It could have also been discontinued for the US. Other sellers may have it, but we do not.

Has anyone measured the difference in total dissolved solids (TDS) before and after filtration?

Hello, TDS does not always correlate to filtered or not filtered water. TDS measures total dissolved solids, including minerals that may be healthy to be in the water. TDS measures at the parts per million level, while some contaminants in water are bad at the parts per billion or parts per trillion level, where a TDS meter will not pick up on those levels of filtration. Determine WHAT you would like filtered out, and purchase a filter based on that. Low or no TDS does not always mean all contaminants are filtered out.

This filter has worked great for us. No we have not measured it, but the different is noticeably different once the new filter is changed.
