Bought this backup because I was buying a new MacBook and needed to move all my music and photos from my old Mac to my new one! Worked PERFECTLY! I did however, have a problem: the backing up was seamless, but I didn’t know how to import data to my new computer! I called the number, the guy who answered walked me through the process and viola! Worked like a charm! He was so helpful! Super-fast transfer, maybe 20 minutes! Now I have this great backup that is time machine ready! Glad I bought it!

I have nothing but praise for this item. The instructions on downloading to saving, retrieving etc., are excellent for someone like me who is computer challenged, and I had great concerns about keeping my memoir safe as I edit it, so it was comforting to know that if you keep your Smart Backup Stick in a secure place, you will always have your work safe, even if your computer crashes or is stolen.In addition, Mario and his partner are available to consult with you at any time. I live 130 miles from their headquarters in Santa Fe, NM on Saturday 27th my wife and I happen to have a question while in Santa Fe and Mario one of the owners was so gracious and helpful, that he dropped everything and met us and answered my question about retrieving. I would recommend this item to anyone, without hesitation.

I wanted a simple external backup device that would be a plug-in and press backup without having to figure anything else out. This fit the bill. I did have a little issue because of my computer, but I called their customer service number and a live person from this country answered right away. I wasn't put on endless hold, and the gentleman was very knowledgeable and helped me immediately. I even got a follow-up call to make sure things were working well. I would highly recommend this little device. It gives me peace of mind knowing my pictures and documents are backed up.

I purchased this device to make sure that the data from my MacBook Air was protected. The Smart Backup Stick eid as it said it was going to do. I went on a trip and was sure that my data would be protected and be there when I needed it. I did run into a small problem, but after a phone call to the company I was very happy. If you want you data protected and available to you this is the device. STAY SAFE!!!!

Could not use on my OS. Not latest OS.

I received my backup stick today and put it in my computer but could not find the time machine so I called the support number and a human answered ! He asked if he could FaceTime me and look at my computer to help me find the time machine, which we did and he got me set up in less than 5 minutes. The backup was so easy - Thank you.

Totally unusable. Would not even show up on my MacBook Pro to be usable. A total waste of a lot of money and time. Returning it this week. Can get something for half the price that will work. Didn't even like the scant packaging.
