Flow Switch for Tankless water heater for CA title 24 compliance.
This product is used on my tank-less water heater to activate the re-circulation pump. I just momentary turn on than off any faucet in my house for a second and the flow switch activates the re-circulation pump. This is needed to be in compliance with title 24 of CA code. A re-circulation pump is not allowed to be on a timer or on full time. Instead the code requires an activation button located near each faucets. This works better as you don't needed multiple buttons! There is a plastic flow switch but its max flow rate is below the 11gpm of my tank-less. This has a higher flow rate. Note: This flow switch has BSP threads you will need to use BSP to NPT adapters.

Installed with some effort
I installed this on the cold water supply of my hot water heater to activate my hot water circulation pump. This reduces the amount of water I waste getting hot water to the other side of the house. I am using a RaspPI to activate a solid-state relay for a fixed amount of time once flow is detected. Pros: This is a solid brass construction and there is no barrier penetration between the water and the switch. There is a magnet inside the fitting to detect flow and the magnetic sensor does not have direct contact with water. It requires a flow of about ~1GPM to activate. Cons: The thread IS NOT 3/4" NPT-Male. It is a Metric BSPT 3/4" Male thread. It is straight mechanical thus requiring a hose washer. I had to purchase a brass adapter to convert from BSPT to NPT and that fitting cost as much as this sensor. This manufacturer should offer this product threaded in both NPT and BSPT.

Not reliable
My flow switch stays made under normal water pressure, even if there is no flow. No water pressure and no water movement, then it might revert back to an open state but a lot of times not.
