TL;DR: Reliable Thunderbolt 3 USB C cable that delivers the advertised performance in my use, but I have not used it long enough to judge long term durability. I bought this Belkin Thunderbolt 3 cable to connect USB C devices that need more than basic charging, mainly an external SSD and a laptop dock. In those tasks it has worked exactly as advertised. Transfers to and from the SSD are fast and stable, with no random disconnects or throttling that I can attribute to the cable. Video output to a 4K display through a dock has also been clean, with no flickering or handshake issues. The fit of the connectors is solid. The USB C plugs seat firmly in the ports without feeling loose or overly tight. The cable itself is moderately flexible, which makes routing on a desk easier without feeling flimsy. The length is a good compromise for keeping clutter down while still giving enough reach between a laptop and nearby devices. It is worth noting that this is only an opinion, not objective truth, since different setups and usage patterns can produce different experiences. In my case, though, the cable has performed as a proper Thunderbolt 3 cable should, handling both data and power without complaint. I have not tested it at the very edges of its specification, such as daisy chaining multiple high bandwidth devices, but for everyday high speed storage and display use it has been dependable. I cannot fairly comment on longevity yet. I do not plug and unplug it constantly, and it has only seen light to moderate use so far. There are no visible signs of wear at the strain reliefs or connectors, which is encouraging, but anyone who abuses cables or travels heavily with their gear may want to keep that in mind and look for longer term user reports. Overall, if you need a known brand Thunderbolt 3 cable and are willing to pay a little more than generic options for some peace of mind, this Belkin cable is a sensible choice in my experience. After weeks of looking for a longer USB-C to USB-C cable for my Samsung T7 SHEILD SSD, I am glad I came across this Belkin Thunderbolt 3 cable. Not only is this cable durable with great material it is super fast and reliable. The previous cables I bought would not transfer data, disconnect from my SSD, and give me slow speeds. That’s not the case with this cable. In fact, I have ZERO issues with it. Apple Charges a lot of money for their Thunderbolt cables. This is the cheapest high quality cable you can buy. I highly recommend it!

It works great and price is good

Thunderbolt 3 (TB3) is still finding its place in consumer life and in the technology industry. Its use cases are few but really powerful. TB3 cables are notoriously expensive but this one isn't. It's from a reputable brand that should gives you more assurance of quality and shouldn't burn out your devices or, in the worst case, set them on fire. It's really stiff though which probably helps in durability but takes away from easy of use. They're also, by specification, short. This is half speed (20GB) but long enough to be useful. I mainly use it to charge my phone while I'm on my laptop. My phone will sit on a table charging but the cable is still long enough that I can pick up my phone and look at it without any issue. It rolls up nice enough and fits in my laptop bag. If you actually need full speed TB3 (40gbps) then you'll need another cable, it will also be about a foot long and minimally usable.

Let me mention this first. Just because you have a USB cable and port does NOT mean they are rated for certain speeds. If you want to transfer stuff quickly, you need an appropriate cable and port on your computer. Also, iPhone 15 and 15 Plus users will NOT get the same USB C speeds as 15 Pro and Pro Max users. They do not contain the same USB controllers inside of them. So don't purchase this expecting to have blazing-fast speeds if you have the regular 15 or 15 Plus. A regular USB C cable will give you the same speeds you'll get with this cable because those devices do NOT contain the chip needed for Thunderbolt speeds. Anywho, I purchased this to be able to quickly transfer photos and back up my iPhone 15 Pro Max to my MacBook. It took around 15 to 20 minutes to back up my iPhone 14 Pro Max with a Lightning cable to literally maybe 3 or 4 on my 15 Pro Max using this cable My only complaint is the price, but unfortunately, it seems most GOOD Thunderbolt cables are similarly priced. I just wish someone would make a 6ft or longer cable and it not cost an arm and a leg and be good quality.

Fantastic little tbolt 3, its only 3 ft long, but you get 40gbps transfer. Crazy. Can move huge games from my main desktop powerhouse to my NUC or laptop with thunderbolt, and a 50 gig file transfers in less than 30 seconds. Insane. Only downside is these cables are pretty expensive, and you have to dip down to slower tbolt 2 if you want to have a cable longer than 3 feet. So if you have an external gpu for gaming, it has to be very close to the laptop in order for it to work. That sucks. It does work with transferring files from a USB c phone connector, and transferred them pretty quickly. The cable is super thick rubber plastic, no braided, but it feels incredibly sturdy. This thing won't strip or fray if you bend it a little. Great quality, really good cable.
