I have never played a flight simulator game before, and i am not a pilot. Could i still learn to play this game?

Tom, I bought this game as a present for y brother who used to be a pilot. It is possible to play it without any special piloting training and I know people who does that BUT my personal experience with the game was catastrophic. LOL My brother set all the airplane gadgets for me because I didn't have patience to read the instructions or watch the tutorials.  I sat behind the throttle and couldn't get the plane off the ground. I tried for a while and when I finally took off, I looped in the air and crashed to the ground.  It was a horrible scene. Thank goodness it was a simulation because I would have killed around 200 people. LOL

Isa this fsx gold + Accleration pack?

FSX Gold includes 1. FSX Deluxe + SP1 & SP2   2. FSX Acceleration Pack  3. If interested in SDK the last disk also includes the SDK service packs (2).   You do not need the gold version to run on win 7 or win 8!   It is only a packed version of everything + service packs.  This FSX is the same as when it first came out, it has NOT been updated!  Note: you cannot run acceleration with the standard version of FSX

Can you make your own missions?  Can you get unlimited fuel?

I do not see where you can make your own missions, but there may be a add on for it.  You can set unlimited fuel.
