Fiebing's Pro Dye Leather Dye (4 Fl Oz) - Alcohol-Based, Penetrating, Permanent Dye for Shoes, Belts, Furniture - Vivid Color, Superior Color Fastness

I chose Fiebing's Pro Dye (Walnut) after researching how to revive a lightly stained handbag with a darker color. The product applied smoothly, easily covered the flap stain and renewed the handbag with richer color and shine. I also used the Pro Dye on the previously orange-brown leather ends of a new embroidered cross-body strap -- it matched nicely. The Pro Dye is a great product -- it went on evenly, dried quickly, left a nice finish and has not rubbed off. I used about 1/4 of a 4oz bottle, with a fair amount of product absorbed by the polyester sherpa scrap I used as an applicator. Should have just bought an applicator. Overall, I'm satisfied with the results of one coat. Worth it!!

This stuff is omg I let my husband dye his leather gloves and he got it everywhere very hard to get off of surfaces but it works so well and the color is true black no purple Tiny’s true black looks amazing. Just be careful opening it and use in a ventilated area has a strong smell

Very dark black, works amazing on BDU boots

This dye works beautifully. I renewed the color on two pairs of leather shoes. They looked like they originated that way. The color has not shown any wear. Very pleased!

I live in California, and this says "not legal for sale in California on the side of the label" but I got it without any problems (UPS ground). I wanted to dye a leather bracelet that was originally pale blue with a metallic effect; I used acetone to take off the blue and was pleasantly surprised it removed all the color, back down to the brown leather. I then applied the royal blue dye, three coats, with a Q-tip. It came out very dark; it's more purple than blue, but very very very dark purple. Not really distinguishable from black. I put three coats of Resolene on top of that, and the color stayed the same; rubbing it with a cloth resulted in some royal blue dye transferring to the cloth, but the leather itself remained dark purple. I'm not unhappy with the results; the color is even and looks good. It just doesn't look royal blue.

This is great dye. I use it when working on bass guitars. Sometimes I need to cover lines on a fretless bass, and this dye is great for that. It soaks right into the plastic and doesn't rub off fast at all. I've also used it to stain fingerboards. Great stuff, highly recommended.

I do not know how long this dye will last on my leather shift knob (how durable it is), but my first impression is that it is really easy to apply and creates a much deeper black color on the leather than other leather restorers I have tried. You can see a comparison between the before and after photos I've included with my review. I used a small brush to brush on the dye, rubbed it in with a soft clothe, and let it dry for 5 minutes before reapplying a second coating. After applying the 2nd coating, I buffed the leather with a clean, soft microfiber towel so everything looked as even as possible. I made sure to remove any wet spots and left the leather to dry overnight before using. Hopefully, the dye is durable enough to last for a few years or at least not to rub off on my hands or clothing. If it disappoints me, I will come back to revise my rating.

I got this to touch up my black leather jacket. It worked great. My jacket looks like new again. The black colour matched perfectly. It would have been very convenient if there had been an applicator attached to the cap though. I used a gauze pad to apply it. Do not get this stuff on your hands as it's hard to get off. Use a disposable glove. This dye is a very good dye and I recommend it.

Purchased six leather chairs with some damage for a rediculous price. This dye is perfect for conceiling the scratches and even the wear on the edges. Less perfect than the repair shop but great results for a novice. Very happy with this dye.
