When I ordered this "Bug Detector / Anti-Spy detector", I wasn't sure how well it would work, however after a little practice with it, I'm pleasantly surprised at how good it actually is. The first thing to point out is that this is a general RF (radio frequency) detector. It won't magically point out where transmitting devices are and requires a little knowledge about how to use it and how radio frequencies work. The instruction booklet is far easier to understand that I expected and sets out how to operate this detector in easy steps. In terms of RF detection (any electrical item that produced a RF, including WiFi, phones, wireless cameras, other transmitters and power adaptors, etc) it's simply a case of attaching the short antenna and switching it on via the rotating knob on the top, which also operates the detection strength. It works best with all non-essential devices switched off in the room. You then set it at the minimal sensitivity level, with 1 green light on, then move it around the room until the unit detects a RF. You can adjust the sensitivity throughout via the control knob. Using the "GPS bug" detection is actually a case of detecting magnets. Attach and extend the Flexi probe with LED on the end and press the left button for 3 seconds to change mode. The short antenna is not needed at this point. Move the probe around and it will detect any magnetic fields from devices held onto metal via magnets. I've tested it on small magnetic devices and it illuminates the LED as soon as it picks up a magnet. Finally, the camera lens detector can be used to observe reflections from camera lenses. You switch the red LEDs on and observe through the circular viewer. Overall, this is far more impressive than I expected. It works well, with a little practice. The unit is well built and very simple to operate. Although designed for bugs, this can easily be used arou d the home to detect RF that may be interfering with other devices or that which can disrupt your sleep. I can definitely recommend this device.

It was quite simple to set up. So far I have not detected anything so feeling positive about that. I will take it with me on holiday to ensure the rooms I book don’t have any hidden cameras. Very hopeful about this product

I’m not sure how this product accumulated over 6,000 reviews—many of them seem questionable. In my experience, it didn’t perform as advertised and offered very little real value. I returned it immediately.

I first tested it in my hotel room, and the device quickly picked up wireless signals and helped me check the room for hidden cameras. The sensitivity levels are easy to adjust, and the alerts are clear and responsive. I also used it inside my car to check for any unexpected GPS trackers — the magnetic detection probe was very helpful and accurate. I bought this because I wanted some peace of mind when staying in hotels and also at home. The device feels sturdy and is easy enough to use once you get the hang of it. It picks up signals quickly, and the adjustable sensitivity helps narrow down where the source is. The small size makes it convenient to carry when travelling.

Nice piece, works if you 'Read The Instructions'. The ON switch is not the volume, its the sensitivity control, so turning it up make the sound go off all the time. Play with it, test it. Definitely works well.

This product was exactly what I was looking for! I was pleasantly surprised when it came in professional packaging showing the care of the product not being a cheap toy. Next I went to the instructions and was pleasantly surprised to find there was an option to turn off the beeping sound when it detects and you can switch it to a vibrate when it detects. The instructions were thorough and clear and even provided examples of when and where you might use a feature on the device. If you do not read the instructions this product will be useless and confusing to you. I got to test this on my car and used the MS function to pick up on signals. You can use your phone since it gives of signals to set the dial to the distance you want the signal to pick up by putting it on a surface and standing the distance away you want it to pick up the signal. But note if you’re too far it might just pick up the wifi signal (make sure you remove smartwatches/fitbits so it doesn’t threw off the signal while using this device). I got a strong signal behind my left rear tire. I was greatly troubled until I noticed my tired was on top an electrical cable which set off the signal. Though there was no concern, it showed this device is effective! I feel confident in using this device and its multiple functions to feel safe in my traveling. It’s easy to take apart to be compact for travel as well. I think if you have a medium sized purse you could keep it in there or even your glove box. The only think I wish it was better with is picking up a magnet from a distant, thought i understand why that’s not entirely possible so it does a fine job as it is.

I asked my husband to carry one of these and I also carry one. We are frequently watched, sometimes in office spaces and sometimes in places where we should never be watched like hotels or even our own homes. If you travel, you should carry one! Too many people are exploited without their knowledge or consent and I don’t want to be one of them. I found my neighbor’s cameras, some of which I suspected but didn’t know about the exact location very easily with this. I never go into a hotel room or even use a bathroom if it seems possible someone might have left a camera. Toilet cameras are a gross and real thing. So much of the internet is wonderful and amazing and then there are things that show the dark side of people. Also covering your camera on your computer and other basic forms of cyber hygiene are seriously important. Using a scanner like this in every aspect of life is simply essential. This particular sweeper is useful and easy to use. It comes with an easy to understand manual which I very much suggest reading! Take care of yourself and your family with this modern necessity and keep unfortunate videos of yourself off the internet.
