This one has Realtek too (RTL8153 to be precise), but it's surprisingly pretty good. My setup from ISP to computer (everything connected via Cat 5E / 1gig ports): Verizon Fios 1gig up/down fiber optic internet > Verizon ONT > BENFEI USB 3.0 to Ethernet Adapter (Bus 006 Device 002: ID 0bda:8153 Realtek USB 10/100/1000 LAN) USB-A > Radxa ROCK 5B [OpenWrt R2026.02.10 router setup] (0004:41:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8125 2.5GbE Controller (rev 05) > TP-Link AX5400 (used as a switch/wireless AP) > Computer [CachyOS / Linux 7.1.0-rc3-2-cachyos-rc] (06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation I211 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 03) I'm able to fully saturate both directions with reasonable overhead when running an iperf test via terminal. I've only used this Benefi USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter for 2 hours, but I'm impressed with how well it function at this price. The built in ethernet port on my laptop is terrible - It's one of those flip down jacks, and it's completely unreliable. I bought this USB adapter because I need an ethernet link I can count on. Speed tests of the Ethernet adapter are showing 900Mbps downstream / 20 Mbps upstream, which are about the limits of my home internet connection. This USB ethernet adapter has LEDs for Activity and Link. The adapter is cool to the touch after hours of use. The braided cable and the general construction feel like they are high quality - but that's just my feeling.

Hey man! Overall very effective and affordable. The only downside side I see is the one end that the Ethernet cable is out into does not snap or click into piece. It has a tendency from its own weight and gravity, to disconnect itself. Look for one that “clicks” or “ snaps” I to place.

Handy to have both a usb 3 and a usb c adapter on one product. Worked as expected on my laptop where the gigabit ethernet worked as expected. I primarily got this adapter to provided a quicker ethernet connection for a onn 4K Pro version 2 which cut corners and only provided a 100 Mbps ethernet port and a usb 2 port. I used the usb 2 port on the onn 4K Pro version 2 device and got upload and download speeds of about 370 Mbps with this adapter. An excellent deal for an excellent adapter.

I have gigabit fiber and have used this as my main driver on Mac, iPhone, and iPad and it hasn't obstructed my internet in the slightest. I even used it while troubleshooting some complex network issues, so I trusted this enough to know that it wasn't involved as a variable in the issues we had. Needed a basic 1G ethernet dongle, that worked with Linux. This is based on a Realtek 8152 chip, and has out-of-the-box driver support. Real world performance is about 942Mbits, up there with a PCIe card. That was on a USB 3 port, of course. Great value for the money.
