83230 Round Drain Pan-Open, 16 Quart

This thing has function and simplicity all in one. It fits perfectly underneath my 1999 Toyota Tacoma, my 2007 Ford Focus, and my 2009 Honda Rebel. It holds enough oil to handle even very large block engines. Draining is really easy. Price is right. I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

What I like is the extra capacity this one has. Love that it has a place to put the drain plug. Dragging it out from underneath hundreds of times has caused wear on the bottom, and I'm afraid some day it will wear through. This shouldn't be an issue with a home mechanic. Update 1/3/15: Amazing. I've been using this same drain pan for close to 10 years. It has yet to wear a hole through the bottom like I thought. Whats really amazing is that I ran it over 3 times, every time it popped right back into shape. My first one which is the one I still use is green. I bought this black one to replace it thinking it would wear out.

Too small to catch both oil flow and drips. Have discarded

about 4 quarts of oil on the garage floor, thanks to this piece of junk. I carefully checked the spout and cap, but didn't notice a hole near the bottom, that was either where the molding sprue was torn off, or someone punched a hole in it with a nail. Very hard to see a small hole on a black object. No damage to shipping package. A disaster of an oil spill in my garage.

Seems tough. It's a little hard to get the last bit of oil drained out.

This oil pan is a little high to fit under my motorcycle without a lift. I drain the oil into a conventional drain pan and then pour it into this. After spilling oil out of a conventional drain pan while filling one gallon jugs for recycling, I bought this. It does everything a person would expect. Good product!

The capacity of this drain pan make you no worry about oil spill off. It is easy to pour oil into recycle jug too. If your garage has space, strongly recommend.

Relatively low profile so it fits under my Subaru Impreza without having to jack the car up. Wide opening makes it foolproof to drain out via fumoto valve.. Will see how long the plastic screw cap lasts when draining out back into recyclable containers (the only potential point of failure).
