Sikkens Cetol Gloss Marine

Transparent glossy finish coat over Cetol Marine, which provides the color and UV protection. It's durable and easier than varnish or poly to touch up scuffs. The current application is three years old and looking good.

I purchased an old, grayed out teak table with 6 chairs. The furniture was extremely high quality but had not been touched for at least 30 years. It was rickety and completely gray. After the restoration, the furniture is absolutely stunning!! If you were to buy a set like this brand new, it would cost at least $4,000. I paid $350 on craigslist and saved a fortune restoring it myself! Here are the steps I took. #1 power wash, #2 sand completely with 80, then 120 grit sandpaper, #3 vacuum sawdust particles off and wipe gently with a slightly damp rag, #4 apply 3 coats of Sikkens Cetol Marine Natural Teak, allowing a minimum 24 hours between coats, #5 apply 2 coats of Sikkens Cetol Gloss, allowing a minimum 24 hours between coats #7 allow everything to completely dry for about 3 days (longer in humidity) #7, grab a cold beer or glass of wine and sit back and admire you work! It's a little bit of work but completely worth every hour I put into the restoration!

It is excellent for marine use..or outside use..our 51 ft sailboat uses this exclusively..looks good after years in tropical sun.

Couldn't find this in my local store, so decided to go here to find it. Works great- Used it to coat two cedar posts that are outside of my house. 8ft posts. I used 1 can for this. The first coat goes on super thick and is absorbed SO much. I almost thought i was going to run out as I was intending to do 3 coats. The next few coats go on a lot easier because the wood is already saturated, so it was the right amount. For reference, my dad's the #1 customer at home depot and rockler and festool. He is a tool maniac and has used them all. He swears by Sikkens so that is why we bought it. Great reco and would reco to friends. Great price. thanks

Easy to use, no sanding between coats. Excellent gloss shine for Brightwood. Stripped with heat gun, sanded, 3 base coats. Then apply 1 coat in the spring, and 1 in the fall for maintenance.

After sanding and applying grain filler to a 150 year old exterior oak door I applied two coats of Cetol Gloss. Many neighbors commented on how beautiful the result is. Bonus is very little dripping when brushing on the varnish.

This is the best it need and under coat for a sealer (see can) and teh one coat gloss. I have used it for years and wan been VERY happy. NEED to work in a well ventilated area
