Smartwool Men's Classic Thermal Merino Base Layer Crew

This baselayer top is awesome, is very warm, and comfortable to wear all day. It's long so it easily tucks in and stays that way. Or, if you don't tuck it in, the long waist hugs your hips and keeps the wind from blowing up into your open coat. This keeps you very warm, but is breathable enough to wear in the house all day. Wearing this in the house allows me to keep my heat much lower saving me $$$ on my utility bill. So while this is expensive, it has lasted and is great quality. I bought a 2nd one because I wear mine so often now I hate being without when I have to wash the one. Btw, I wear this over a cotton shirt, which allows me to wear it multiple days without needing to wash it more frequently. I think this too will make the life be extended. Definitely recommend. It's worth the cost. Also, the price on this in Oct 2021 was $20 cheaper than the 2nd one I bought in January. Not sure if that's a result of the inflation we're seeing now or because it's "in season" and naturally higher cost. I'm going to keep an eye on them and see if the cost drops in July when they are less likely to be selling.

I bought this for my brother to wear for his camping trips throughout Montana. The summer nights are cool, so he needed something warm yet versatile. This did the trick. It washed up very well and over 5 months showed no wear. He threw it into the dryer on low sometimes. He loves this shirt, I’ll buy him another in a different color for his birthday.

This is a great sweater, thin enough to wear as an undershirt in cold weather. It’s a bit expensive but worth the money, and a lot better than my similar synthetics.

Great feel

Nice shirt but not the color I ordered. Ordered Mink Heather, got Charcoal. Not worth the hassle to return it for the correct one. Heavier weight than merino tech tops but not as form fitting and much higher price.

Great looking shirt! Can be worn as a single base layer or mid layer with a light wool layer beneath it. Warm and comfortable. Can be purchased elsewhere for much less. After buying it here, I felt a bit ripped off.

This is the softest, thinnest and easiest wool to wear even directly against the skin. If worn as part of several layers it’s very warm while incredibly not bulky. Medium fine for me at 5’8” 170, could have fit into a small, but I layer it so the med is good in that regard

凄く温かいか? と言われると個人の感覚なので断言は難しいですが、まぁまぁ温かいと思います。 感覚で言うと、着るレイヤーをひとつ減らせるかも? くらいの感覚です。 これでも凄いですよね。 比較的体にフィットする仕立てのお陰で隙間無くボディーラインに沿ってくれるため暖かさを維持してくれているようです。 メリノウール 100% でなんだと思いますが、肌触りも優しく着ていて不快感もありませんし、汗を掻いても不快に感じませんね。 山行とスキーでの使用を考えて購入し、山歩きで使用しましたが春秋のベースレイヤーとしてとてもお勧めです。

Great fit

お気に入りで色違いを４着持っています。真夏以外はけっこう着ています。

For how expensive it is, the quality is so bad. One wash in mesh bag and air try and the threads are coming apart. I didn’t even use it for anything technical yet. I have thrifted icebreaker and other wool bases for 2000 yen that are in better condition than my new smartwool
