Amazing trailer very good quality really worth the price

The options available, apart from capacity, seemed to be method of attachment, type of wheel and type of "box". Some attach to the seat post but most to the rear axle, which I chose. Though the attachment mechanism seems a bit "Heath Robinson" - involving a spring which is normally bent in use - it is fairly easy to attach and remove and does the job. Many available have plastic wheels, which seemed to me a but naff, but this has metal spokes and rim - possibly "Chopper" compatible. Having nearly gone for a model with a plastic box I opted for this canvas type and am happy with it. Not used in rain so far. I have done some "improvements". (1) tied the cover down using nylon cord at the front and elastic at the back, both looped under the frame.. (2) Rear lights clipped to each rear corner upright. (3) Another "be safe be seen" measure - detachable home made flag. This is attached by two double ended clips (think of two "C"s back to back) which came with a bicycle pump. One "C" clips on the corner upright and is secured using a self tapping screw. The pole (a DIY store plastic pipe) clips in the open "C"s which are positioned so that the pole end rests on the edge of the trailer base. Commercially available flags seem all designed to fix on a bike's rear axle. I did find that with my 26" wheels the trailer tipped backwards slightly. Not a great problem and would be fine with 20" bike wheels. The tow bar fixes to a bracket under the trailer floor. I drilled two new holes at a slight angle in the bracket to slightly raise the front of the bar, levelling up the trailer. This did require some "plastic surgery" on the plastic moulding inside the bracket - which, by the way, was presumably intended to prevent rattle but was not good at doing so. Cured with some rubber padding. Usage so far - several supermarket trips, one fully laden. 7 - 8 mile round trips with no problems (though my bike is electrically assisted). Seems very stable.

Used it to transport weekly groceries a few times. Prob a couple of miles round trip. So far so good. As others have mentioned, position the heaviest loads near the front (nearest the bike). First time I didn't, and heaviest groceries (eg liquids) tipped the trailer backwards until it scraped the ground. Easy to work around. Easy to attach\detach. I don't bother with the extra "safety" strap. The skewer clips onto the hitch securely enough. Either a trailer is convenient or I won't use it. I use PitLock security wheel skewers on my bike, and there were reports I'd have to buy a special hitch, but one in the box with the trailer works just fine. Love that the wheels are quick-detach, means I can store trailer in a compact space. So far only used in light, not heavy rain. Can't comment on waterproof properties beyond that it at least offers a modicum of water resistance. Tires need pumping every few weeks. Slightly more frequent than my bike, but not too bad. I might upgrade to better tires. Best thing about trailer is its price. It's at a level where I'm happy leaving it parked in busy inner-city street without anything more than the quick-release attachment to bike. If someone really wants to risk nicking it that bad for < £50 resale value, then good luck to them. I'll just buy another. Postscript Jan 2025 - three months in and one of the tires popped after I last pumped (to the recommended pressure). Bought more durable, touring ones, and probably better inner tubes. Can't complain too much for the price, still a five star review from me.
