This phone case stands to the test of time. I bought one in September of 21 and have used it ever since on my iPhone 12. Yes over the years little pieces broke off, and the rubber wore smooth on the back. But every through every drop through every year this kept my phone safe. No cracks. No big scratches. After 5 years I bought my second one. To many years more. Thank you!

Bought this back in August of 2021 and just recently bought a new one after 1 1/2 years. I have a iPhone 12 and suppose to fit the 12 and 12 pro. Went with this case cause i wanted something reliable but not bulky. The case is a nice size, easy to slide in and out my pocket. I’d say it’s a Good size for most people that the phone still feels comfortable in your hand. I was very hesitant about how bulky it would be and wasn’t disappointed. The rubber layer, on the buttons it’s pretty thick and i personally struggled a bit sometimes to get it to work that i was patient enough to wait for it break in that i started to using my nail and ended up digging into the rubber of all buttons and even the socket to switch to vibrate had to dig in there to switch it. Overtime the rubber does start wearing out so dust/dirt will tend to get in between the case and the phone and will potentially scratch the phone as it did to mine. It’s only two small a scratched at the edge of the top of the phone. Also the port protection probably ripped off after about 4-6 months? But that’s due to me using my phone so much and having to charge it and still using it which made it wear out faster so i think for someone who’s not always on there phone it’ll definitely last longer than it did for me. The plastic is good but could be better. If you drop it in the bottom the plastic is the first to take the impact which will probably crack as it did for me on two spot. Can’t recall when the crack by the camera happen as i only recently noticed it when buy this for the second time. The first crack in the bottom corner happened around the 1 year mark but if you look at my photos i can easily pop it back in place and keep using it without issue. There’s also a small thin plastic that goes in front of the port protection that broke off around 6 months of having it. The plastic is pretty durable, you’d really have to put some force on it to dig into the plastic so small scratches are not really a thing to worry about. If your responsible with not dropping your phone, almost any line of work that’s not construction, i definitely suggest this case if you don’t want a bulky case. For those who work in a more active line of work like huge construction job sites, i recommend upgrading to “DEFENDER” series case. Those are the cases my job has on our work phones and they’re pretty bulky. If you’re someone who’s slightly clumsy, i suggest this case. Overall a great case if you want something reliable, looks great and isn’t bulky. This was based off my experience and other will have their own that probably won’t align with mine. I looked at the reviews before buying it the first time and some people broke it within 3 months from what i recall. it still depends how active your are and what environment your in. If your a office worker, this case will most likely last you a few years compares to someone who’s in a environment that can get pretty filthy and is fast pace. It also depends on how you take care of you things. It’s going to happen to everyone at some point so if you really want more protection with sacrifice of it’s look and size, i suggest upgrade to the defender series or get two cases and swap them for work and off work. Silly but it’s an investment on saving your self the hassle of having to fix a phone or a get a new phone. Update May 2024: Recently had to replace my case again this time it was pretty beat up. Same broken spots as before. Lasted me a good year and honestly could’ve gone longer but looked too messy to be carrying around. I still give this case 5/5 stars. I drive for work and visited construction sites and move heavy equipment and often have my phone on me and risk dropping it a lot. Luckily I’m not clumsy but have dropped it from inside the truck on to the floor outside a couple of times. Maybe like a 4ft drop? Takes the impact no problem, i don’t drop my phone to often and even so i don’t walk around carelessly thinking this case is going to protect it. Even with a bulkier case, it’s important to remember phones still can have internal damage so don’t expect it to completely protect your phone. At the end of the day you are your phones best protection. As i mentioned i recently upgraded cases and did not purchase this case again. Reason being that I’m pretty good with not dropping my phone and this is a bit too bulky to support wireless battery back charging. As i bought a wireless battery pack and could only use it if i remove the case which then I’d have to carry separately in my pocket. It works with a wireless desk charger, just have to position it right. Not sure about other types of wireless desk chargers but the one i have at home definitely needs to be positioned correctly to pick it up. I still recommend this case for anyone looking for extra protection but something not to bulky. I have changed to the “jetech” magnetic case. its a very thin case and will eventually make a review on that.

Solid phone case for the price! My silicone case had really worn away and I wanted something that would have less friction going in and out of pockets and bags. I like how well it fits, the color, and how solid it is. Even though it is technically MagSafe, the case doesn’t allow for enough of a magnetic attachment for any accessories on the back so I’ll likely have to add a magnetic ring sticker.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Slim, Tough, and Worth Every Penny I’ve used a lot of phone cases over the years, and this OtterBox Commuter Series case for the iPhone 12 / 12 Pro is easily one of my favorites. It’s slim enough to slide in and out of your pocket without that bulky feeling, but still gives you serious protection. The dual-layer design feels solid and absorbs impact really well. It fits the phone perfectly with precise cutouts for the speakers, camera, and buttons. The port covers are a huge plus. They keep dust and debris out, especially if you’re carrying your phone in your pocket or bag all day. The buttons are still easy to press and feel responsive. It also has a clean, professional look in black. Not flashy — just sleek and durable. If you want strong protection without carrying around a brick, this is a great choice. Definitely recommend.

This is the third time I'm buying this case in two years because it WORKS. First time... because the phone is in the possession of a teen. The second case was necessary due to normal phone wear and tear - a corner had eventually chipped after enough drops and I wanted to make sure the case had enough structural integrity to live on. Yesterday my teen forgot her iPhone was in her pocket and went on Medusa at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The longest and highest coaster in NorCal. No floor. 150-foot hill. 150-foot drop. 128 feet high vertical loop, followed by immediately by a dive loop and zero G roll. A double-inversion in between two cobra loops where you pull 4.5 Gs. The kid's phone, which is almost paid off, flings out of her pocket somewhere during the ride and thankfully doesn't hit anyone. She's devastated, and I'm running the math on a new-to-her phone. We wait for THREE HOURS after closing for the Six Flags team to look for the phone and... it is unscathed. (Can't imagine why they take their understaffed sweet time looking for an item they explicitly tell you not to bring on the coaster.) The case is broken but the iPhone itself looks brand new (see the pic - the crack in the gorilla glass screen protector was already there pre-Six Flags). Another party waiting to see if their phone survived was handed a baggie with an iPhone in multiple pieces so... I never write product reviews but this warranted one.

I have a tendency to drop my phone on its corner so a spongy case was on top of my requirements. This Otterbox seems to fit the bill with a softer inside layer and a exoskeleton that keeps the inner layer firmly in place. There is decently raised edge around the screen so unless you drop the phone face down on some rocks, your screen is probably safe from drops. The main cameras are well protected by virtue of the thick case unless you just happen to the drop the phone camera first onto rocks or a small edge. The reset and volume buttons are well aligned to the phone's. I had no trouble actuating the buttons through the case. The mute switch is a little hard to reach with my fat fingers, however, because the case is on the thicker side. There is a little flap that covers the lightning port. It's a small nuisance to open the flap and close the flap but like many people, I keep my phone in my pocket and the charging port has an incredible ability to catch lint. This flap should help prevent lint... until I forget to close it and tear it off. Speaking of charging, this Otterbox is not "MagSafe" and will not stick strongly to a MagSafe charger or mount. However, an iPhone12 in this case will still align to a MagSafe a charger and charge. There is some texturing on the edges of the phone that I hope will let me hold onto the phone a bit more securely. I seem to touch them whenever I hold onto the phone so the Otterbox folks seem to have put a bit of thought into their positioning. All in all, I think this case should last as long as my phone. All the bits seem to be natively black so I'm hoping there will be no paint chipping/pealing with time.

I bought this for my gf so she can use it on our bike tours. She likes it a lot. And the pink is just enough girly girl for her. It’s not too bulky, to her surprise I might add. With the prices of iPhones, this is a solid investment for real.
