Works to power a Solar powered Christmas lights on wreath of truck radiator.
Using this to power a set of solar Christmas lights on my old truck-mounted wreath on the front. Similar voltage and working great.

nice little out of the way hidden power point
so for all you people that like to add toys to your vehicles and hide them, this is the way to go, you can tap in to your rearview mirror cable and run you this in your headliner and not have any cables hanging down in the window or have to run that cable across and down to the cigarette lighter plug for your dash cams or radar detector or even you phone mount power cords.

Worked fine for car accessories
Worked great - added a bluetooth adapter to my older car stereo - the adapter has a USB plug. I didn't want to snake the USB cable to the cigarette lighter, this kept everything behind the dash. Clean install, power works fine, connection is tight. Handy little thing to have.

It works for an ipad
We use it to keep an ipad charged and the hardwire to 12v makes for a cleaner installation instead of a cigarette lighter plug. If the ipad is used all day, the charge won't stay at 100% but it's possibly (probably) because the battery is getting old and not the adapters fault.

Worked Great for Dashcam, Died After 2 Years in Texas Heat
Using this in my car, which is not garage kept, for a VIOFO dashcam. Worked well for 2 years. The heat and vibration finally got to it, now it draws 0A and outputs nothing. Wish there was an automotive rated one on Amazon for a few dollars more... This one is still excellent for the price.

It does what it is supposed to do
It does what it is supposed to do. I needed to convert a 12v Lithium Ion battery to 5v to power a USB fan. This inexpensive part enabled that to work.
