SEIKO Presage Cocktail Time Automatic Watch for Men

It was love at first sight for me. This green dial is phenomenal and after just three days of wearing it, I have lost count of the compliments it has received. IMO the wrist strap is poor. I also ordered a Barton replacement 20mm classic black leather with gold buckle and that looks and feels so much better than the stock strap. Many online reviews complain about the lack of the sapphire crystal (which is tougher than the stock) especially at this price point, but so far, so good. I'll primarily be wearing this when I am dressed up, which is not that often (I'm retired - no day job) so I am not that concerned. And really, if I (or you) wanted to, the sapphire crystals are not that expensive and could be easily added. This is not a diver so keep it as dry as possible. It is rated to just 5 bar so an occasional splash or a few rain drops should be AOK. Just don't shower with it. ;-) The users' manual is a download from Seiko. It is very easy to set (there are a few rules to follow for the date function) and after three days it has kept perfect time to the second. The second hand can be stopped so there are no issues to set to an exact time. It is automatic but can also be hand-wound (consult the manual) easily enough. I registered it on the Seiko web site - easy-peasey, for the three-year warranty. I absolutely LOVE this watch! It is my one and done for a dress watch.

My husband and I chose this watch as a graduation gift for our son, and it's perfect. You get the fun of moving gears at the back without the distraction of it on the watch face. The automatic style means no winding and no batteries. The finish is beautiful, and the leather strap is high quality. We are satisfied with the purchase and know our son will love it.

This is a BEAUTIFUL watch. Very happy with my purchase, I get compliments constantly. The band is comfortable and easily adjustable. Definitely would recommend.

Not a fan of the band, but the watch itself is very nice and looks good as a sports watch or in a suit. Seems to hold time well. Requires a wind every morning but otherwise works great.

This is my first mechanical watch and I like it a lot. The dial is beautiful, reacts very well in light, the green and gold combination is great! Adjusting time and date is very easy as it only has one crown to adjust both.

I bought this watch when I saw the discounted price, but it was defected. The seconds hand movement is bad, it keeps jumping and skipping time, and the watch is always ahead. I tried winding per the seller’s instructions but it didn’t work. I put 2 stars in my review because their customer support team is very helpful and responsive, and they helped me through the winding process then the return process.

With the alternating Arabic numerals and shark teeth hour markers, it doesn’t feel too dressy, nor too casual. They’re raised in gold so they catch the light nicely too. The watch dresses down more easily than I thought and doesn’t exactly feel like a dress watch to me. So I found myself wearing it as an everyday watch. I also noticed the dial catches direct sunlight very nicely, but the intricate pattern is almost completely lost in an indoor lit setting, which is a shame since with its “cocktail time” name, it’s intended for those settings. It’s extremely comfortable due to its slim size as well, I just wish it had a sapphire crystal because the box hardlex makes me nervous. At first I wanted a flat or domed crystal, but the box profile actually looks very nice here. Pros: - gorgeous dial - great hour markers and hands - box crystal looks great - perfect size and thickness for smaller wrists - mix of silver and gold works surprisingly well Cons: - original strap looks like plastic but is easy to replace at 20mm - hardlex crystal - crown is hard to grasp - dial doesn’t impress in dim/artificial lighting - only a 4r movement (nitpick here) Measurements - 38.3 mm case size excluding crown - 45 mm lug to lug - 20 mm strap width - 9.4 mm thickness excluding crystal - 12.1 mm thickness including crystal - 4R35B movement Note: the model number doesn't have J1 in it, but the caseback and movement, and dial say "made in Japan." Not sure what that means then

Would have liked faster delivery but I guess it was worth the wait. Its been 8 days straight I have been using the product everyday.

Muy buena compra, el reloj es bueno de vista y también en precisión. Viene en caja original con todo lo que debe de traer (incluye la tarjeta de garantía de Seiko). El vendedor (tienda en Appleton WI) toma un poco de tiempo en enviar el paquete, unas semanas tal vez, pero Amazon no toma el dinero hasta que se hace el envío así que no hay por qué preocuparse. Al final todo bien. Recomendable.
