Will this lancing device work with One Touch Ultrasoft lansets?

Accepted Answer

Accu-Chek and OneTouch are proprietary designs that are not compatible with any other devices. OneTouch only works with OneTouch lancing devices, and will not fit Autolet. However, if interested in switching, Autolet does work with all universal fit lancets (many of which are less expensive than OneTouch or Accu-Chek options). Unilet lancets are affordable and come in a variety of sizes including 28G, 30G and 33G.

Question 2

Is there a sliding mechanism on the side to reload if you have to repoke your finger ?  Or is it at the bottom of device ?

Accepted Answer

The device automatically cocks/primes when you insert your lancet. If you need to reload or re-cock it, simply push the gray slider backward (toward the end of the device). You will notice that the activation button raises slightly when you do this. If the device is not cocked the button will remain depressed. That said, lancets are meant for single use. Reuse can dull the lancet tip, resulting in discomfort and can also introduce bacteria into the sampling site.

Does this lancing device work with the BD 30-gauge Lancets?

It will work if you practice a bit.  The BD lancing device is cocked when you insert the lancet.  The Owens Mumford has to be cocked after inserting the lancet.

to load this with a lancet, is the trigger on bottom or on side ?

Accepted Answer

To load the Autolet Lancing device with a lancet you must remove the cap by pushing the slide button forward towards the cap end of the device. The lancing device can be set for firing by pushing the lancet into the device or by pushing the slide button back towards the end of the device once the cap has been replaced. The device is ready for use once the small oval button (located between the slide button and cap) is raised.
