Wipe New Trim Restore Kit

I picked up Rust-Oleum Wipe New after noticing how faded and gray my car’s exterior trim had gotten over the years. I wasn’t expecting miracles—but honestly, the first application completely surprised me. First Impressions: Right out of the package, it feels more like a “coating” than a typical detailing product. The kit comes with pre-soaked wipes, gloves, and prep cloths, which makes it pretty beginner-friendly. The instructions emphasize prep—and after using it, I understand why. The wipes are small but very saturated, and a little goes a long way. One wipe easily covered most of my bumper and mirror trim. Application Process is simple: - Clean the surface thoroughly - Dry completely - Wipe on a thin, even coat Caution: You do have to be careful. The liquid spreads easily, but if you go over the same spot too many times, it can start to streak. It also dries quickly, so you don’t get much time to fix mistakes. This is where the product really delivers. - Faded gray plastic turned deep black instantly - The finish looked closer to factory-new than shiny or greasy - Trim around my windows and bumper looked years newer It’s one of those products where you immediately see a difference as you apply it. I've used it several times. After a few months of driving, rain, and washes: - The finish held up much better than typical trim dressings - No greasy residue or runoff after rain - New finish/look can last for months to years depending on the application It doesn’t last forever, but it definitely outperforms most “wipe-on shine” products. The ceramic-style protection is meant to resist fading and oxidation over time

This stuff is AWESOME!! It has 3 individual packages of the magic Wipe New. I've bought probably 10 boxes of this stuff over time. On occasion, I've had one of the three packets be dry and no good. It happens, just know that if you buy... but the stuff is so dang good. I restore motorcycles and work on lots of vehicles. I use this stuff on plastic, metal, rubber and even old painted surfaces. It's magic!!!! I recommend it to all my buddies that work on stuff. I used it on the plastic front bumper parts of my Chevy Colorado probably close to 10 years ago. The bumper went from looking like trash to new after this stuff. It looked amazing for probably 8 years in the hot California sun. I had my mom buy some and I used it on her faded mail box.. made it look like new. This stuff works great!!

I got this to help rejuvenate some of the vinyl shutters on the front of my house that have been damaged by the sun over time, and it works for that within reason. It took the sun damage chalk off, but I went through the entire package of these for four 12 inch shutters, and now just about a year later they are already chalking up again in the sun and on the north side of the house. I don't think this these are a long-term solution from my shutters or for any vehicle that may sit outside most or all of its life. It's also nasty, nasty stuff. Full ventilation is required, in other words apply It outdoors. Don't even attempt to apply it indoors on anything. And absolutely be sure you wear at least two pair of disposable gloves as it could easily eat through or melt the first pair.

Received this product Dec 31, 2023. I opened it today (Jan 7, 2024) to use it. This product comes with 6 pouches. 3 with a cleaning cloth and 3 with the wipe new clothes. The cleaning clothes were moist and worked as they should. When I opened the first wipe new pouch the cloth was dry and rock hard. I thought maybe there was a pin hole in the pouch which caused the cloth to dry up. I was pretty confident that the other 2 wipe new clothes were enough to do my project, so I open the last 2 pouches. Both of these clothes were dried up to a point that I estimate were about 50%. I rushed to try to finish before the 2 clothes dried up but I didn't make it. Also, because I rushed, I missed some spots. I think what happened was this item was old and had been sitting around on a shelf for way too long. I've used this product before with good results and will probably use it again, but I don't think I will purchase it for the same supplier.

This product is absolutely great. You have to be careful to follow the instructions to the letter cleaning letting the surface dry then wiping a single time. The look is perfect just like a new piece of plastic. It’s quite amazing the results you get, but I cannot stress how carefully you have to follow the instructions. Also do not allow the plastic to get wet for at least 24 hours after application.

Used them before, they work great for black trim.

This stuff works good, but it used to come in a bottle then they switched to these stupid wipes that come out dripping then dry up 30 seconds later and these pre wipes are garbage don't ever use them they ruin the finish

I really liked the way it wiped on and left a long lasting shine. It goes on very wet and goes much further per wipe than I anticipated. The small terry cloth wipe can be folded over to 8 different clean wipe surfaces and it kept working long enough for one wipe to do a complete half of the SUV bottom plastic trim moulding. The product truly wiped on and shines like magic. Over a month now and mine is still looking very good. The one issue I had with mine was the packaging. The box had 2 of the 4 wipes leaky and it leaked on the instruction sheet and all inside of the kit. Even the rubber gloves had the product all over them. Mine may have been an unusual or one off problem, but it is possible they have an assembly line/packaging issue? I will still 100% buy this product again because of how well it worked for the price! I do hope the next purchase will have the packaging issue resolved...
