Do any insurance companies cover this?

Most insurance companies cover the cost of diabetic testing supplies. However, you will need to contact your insurance company to find out what your specific plan will cover for a Genteel device. The insurance customer service number is usually located on the back of your insurance card. Genteel is a lancing device, so be sure to ask to speak with someone in the Durable Medical or Medical Supplies Department.Tell them you want coverage for a spring-loaded lancing device (which is a unique design & makes it a one-of-a-kind device). The HCPCS Billing Code is A4258. Will the device work with freestyle lancets?

No, the Freestyle Lite lancets do NOT work with this device.  I tried a dozen of them, with every contact tip depth and got zero blood.  In comparison, the Genteel Butterfly Touch Lancets work like a charm every time, even on my forearm, with the yellow number 2 contact tip.  I bought this device and didn't order any additional lancets because of the two people who answered this question that the Freestyle Lancets (I have about 300) work with this device.  A pox on their houses!

What comes with the lancing device, any lancets to get the user started?
