can it be used on shingles

Shingles on a roof, or shingles on your body? I'd suggest calling a roofer if you need to use this on your shingles. You can apply it to the shingles on your body then call the doctor in the morning. It will keep the shingles sealed and prevent leakage until you can get to the doctor.

Question 2

is this food grade? or can i use this on ovens and BBQ grills? it will not directly touch the food but there is a chance that it will. thanks

I sent an email to Permatex regarding the use of this specific RTV Silicone product (81160) to seal a gap in a steamer used in my sandwich shop (gap between 300 degree F steam generator basin and steamer housing).  Their response indicates that NONE of the Permatex products are certified food safe:

Our products including the Red RTV Silicone is not FDA or NSF certified for indirect and direct food contact or for drinking water applications.

Apparently, Permatex is focused on automotive applications so food safe certification is not something they are concerned about.  There are other brands of RTV silicone sealers that are specifically high temp food grade , such as ASI 502 and Sil-Bond "Food Grade NSF FDA RTV Silicone Sealant Adhesive Red High Temp".

Is this compatible with differential fluid?

Can I use red etc for interior application on a tin ceiling with exstream  heat from the Fl sun ?

this is over kill but yes...
are you trying to seal a leek or just hold things up??
this is a sealer not a contact cement.
